Regal 34 SAV price and where the money goes

The Regal 34 SAV price starts at $723,825 on Regal's online configurator with twin Yamaha 350 outboards, and $733,005 with twin Mercury Verado 425s. Boating's 2026 test boat, described as well equipped, carried that same $733,005 figure. That is a lot of money for a 35-foot boat, so the question is what it buys that a conventional center console does not.

SAV stands for Sports Activity Vessel, and Regal designed the line to fish, cruise, overnight and work the sandbar without obvious compromise. Yachting reported that the earlier 38 SAV became the bestselling boat in Regal's 55-year history, which explains why the family has since grown both up, to the 43 and 50 SAV, and now down to this 34. Regal also built a 33 SAV in earlier years, so the 34 is not the first small SAV, but it is the newest.

Boating's reviewer, who said he had long believed every boat is a compromise, concluded that no boat he had run checked as many boxes. That is the pitch: one hull for a family that would otherwise want two boats.

OceanTrac2 underneath, not the stepped FasTrac

Regal built the 34 on its OceanTrac2 hull, a deep-V design used on its larger boats, rather than the stepped FasTrac hull under its smaller models. Deadrise reaches 21 degrees at the transom, which Boating said is enough for a run to the canyons or a crossing from Florida to Bimini. Humphree Lightning interceptors come standard and adjust trim automatically in real time.

Regal lists an overall length of 35 feet 3 inches, a 10-foot 11-inch beam, 15,200 pounds dry, 300 gallons of fuel and 50 of water, with a separate 26-gallon diesel tank for the generator. Draft is 29 inches with the engines up and about 40.5 inches down, and Boating measured bridge clearance at 10 feet 6 inches.

Terrace doors and a cockpit island for the sandbar crowd

The headline feature is a pair of electrically operated terrace doors built into the hull sides, raised and lowered from the touchscreen display. Lower both and the cockpit opens to the water at anchor. The starboard terrace includes a dive door with a removable boarding ladder, and the port terrace has flip-down boarding steps. Boating's favorite small detail was a dedicated transom locker for the sandbar anchor.

At the center of the cockpit is a refreshment island with a freshwater sink, an electric stovetop, a pull-out refrigerator drawer, storage drawers and a trash bin, with mezzanine seating behind it. The outer two of the three helm chairs rotate 180 degrees to face the island, and all three seatbacks fold down to serve as prep space. Extended swim steps wrap around the outboards, and an optional PowerPlatform lowers into the water for swimming and boarding.

A real fishing boat under the cruising touches

Despite the terraces and cool-touch vinyl, the 34 fishes properly. Boating lists a 30-gallon livewell, a macerated in-sole fish box, rod holders along the transom and gunwales, hardtop rocket launchers and outrigger mounts in the hardtop.

The helm has three independent captain's chairs with flip-up bolsters, an elevated position for clear sightlines, and room for two flush-mounted 16-inch Garmin 1643 displays. Regal's Ultimate ship's system display controls the terraces, lighting, power sunshade and more, and Boating called it one of the most intuitive systems the tester had used. Wind deflectors can be deployed beside the console. The only complaint was the lack of drop-down footrests under the helm seats.

A cabin with standing headroom and a split head

Below the console, the cabin has full standing headroom. The forward berth converts to a queen, and a separate mid-cabin retreat has its own sleeping area and TV. The head is split, with a standing-height compartment and rainfall shower apart from the vanity, which makes mornings easier when four people are aboard.

This is a boat for occasional overnights and long days with air conditioning breaks, not week-long cruising, but it sleeps two couples or a family of four without anyone using the cockpit.

Twin Mercury 425 and Yamaha 350 numbers from Regal's tests

Boating's test boat with twin Mercury Verado 425s planed in about 5 seconds, reached 30 mph in 11.4 seconds and topped 50 mph. Its sweet spot was around 4,500 rpm at roughly 27 mph, and the reviewer called the handling very sporty in hard turns at 30 mph.

Regal's own February 2026 report for the Mercury 425s, at an 18,300-pound test weight, shows 52.4 mph at 6,567 rpm on 72.1 gph, and the best economy at 5,000 rpm: 36.1 mph on 36.1 gph, exactly 1.0 mpg. At that rate a full tank with a 10 percent reserve gives about 270 statute miles. Regal's December 2025 report for twin Yamaha 350s, at 18,642 pounds, shows 48.0 mph at 6,000 rpm and 37.4 mph on 36.5 gph at 5,000 rpm, 1.02 mpg.

In other words the Yamahas cost about 4 mph at the top but match the Mercurys at cruise. Choose the 425s for resale and loaded offshore runs; the 350s save about $9,000 and are entirely adequate for most owners.

Running costs and who should buy one

Budget roughly $40,000 to $70,000 a year for insurance, a 40-foot slip or high-and-dry storage, twin outboard service, generator service if fitted, bottom work and fuel for 100 to 150 hours. At about 1 mpg at fast cruise, fuel is the biggest variable.

The ideal buyer is a family that fishes on Saturday and anchors with friends on Sunday, and would otherwise be choosing between a center console and an express cruiser. Buyers who only fish will get more cockpit for less money in a traditional center console, and buyers who mostly cruise should look at an express.

Our verdict on the Regal 34 SAV

The Regal 34 SAV delivers what the SAV name promises: a capable 21-degree hull, real fishing gear, sandbar-ready terrace doors and a cabin that sleeps four, all controlled from an intuitive touchscreen. Regal's own tests show about 1 mpg at a brisk cruise with either engine package. The price is steep for 35 feet, so it makes the most sense for a family that would otherwise own two boats, and the twin Yamaha 350s are the value choice.
