Scout 530 LXF for sale, how to read the listings
Anyone shopping for a Scout 530 LXF for sale will find boats that look alike but differ in ways that matter: four or five outboards, Yamaha or Mercury, 805 or 875 gallons of fuel listed, and interiors finished in one of several cabinetry and flooring choices. The 530 has been in production since 2018, so the market now spans early hulls with Yamaha XTO 425s through recent boats with Mercury V10s and V12s.
The constant is the concept. The 530 LXF was Scout's first mega console, a 53-foot 5-inch center console with a genuine two-cabin interior below, a glass-enclosed helm, fold-down beach platforms and fishing gear for the canyons. It was the flagship until the 670 LXS arrived in 2025, and it remains one of the most complete boats in its class.
A new plant and a 2018 launch
Power & Motoryacht reported in 2018 that Scout was adding a 120,000-square-foot plant to its Summerville, South Carolina, campus to build the 530, after two years of development. Hull No. 1 was sold to Yamaha for testing with five of its new 425 hp XTO outboards, and Scout had sold through Hull No. 7 before the boat's planned debut at the Fort Lauderdale show that fall. Sport Fishing reported its debut at the Miami show in February 2019, and Boating's full test ran the same winter.
Scout's sales director Alan Lang told the magazine that buyers were coming both up from the 42-foot Scout and down from larger sportfishing boats, and that entertaining was as important as fishing. That mix is visible all over the boat.
Epoxy-infused carbon and E-glass with two steps and 18 degrees
All major components are epoxy-infused with carbon fiber and E-glass, according to Scout, and Boating's tester found no wood coring, stringers or bulkheads to rot and through-bolted fasteners throughout. Sport Fishing described the running surface as Scout's carbon-fiber, epoxy-infused double-stepped hull, previously used on the 380 and 420 LXF. Transom deadrise is 18 degrees and draft about 31 inches.
The outboards hang on an offset bracket integrated into the transom, which Boating credited with little to no bow rise and good efficiency across the speed range. Salt Water Sportsman ran the boat in a two-foot chop off Key Biscayne and reported a smooth ride, tight turns and no need to brace when taking four-foot wakes head-on.
Choose four or five, the engine packages compared
Scout publishes bulletins for five packages, and the spread is wide. With the standard four Yamaha XTO 425s, the boat reached 57 mph at 6,000 rpm and cruised most efficiently between about 31 and 48 mph at roughly half a mile per gallon, with an estimated 437-mile range. Five XTO 425s raised top speed to 66.2 mph, and Boating's own test of that package recorded 67.9 mph and a 387-mile range with a 10 percent reserve on the original 805-gallon tank.
Mercury packages came later. Five Verado 450s reached 68.2 mph, and four V12 600 Verados with a Seakeeper aboard hit 70.1 mph at 6,400 rpm with a best figure of 0.51 mpg at 42.6 mph. Scout's spec sheet quotes the longest range, 525 miles, for five Mercury V10 400s. Early in the program Scout talked about six-engine boats and a 2,700 hp rating; the current maximum is 2,400 hp.
Two cabins below a center console
The interior is what made the 530 different from most big center consoles of its era. Forward is a private master with a 7-foot berth that lifts on gas struts to reveal storage, including a rod rack, with its own access to an enclosed head and a separate enclosed shower. Aft is a second cabin with a double berth. Between them, a galley has a refrigerator, freezer, wine cooler, electric cooktop and microwave, and the dinette table lowers electrically to form a third berth.
Boating reported that the cabin decor was by Genesis Interiors, an Italian firm known for luxury yacht interiors, with white oak veneer, marble, granite, backlit onyx and leather. Scout lists cabin headroom of 6 feet 9.25 inches, and air conditioning and heat for both the cabin and the helm. Boating's criticisms were practical: galley storage needed better provision for securing dishes and silverware.
Beach platforms, a cockpit island and the fishing kit
Dual hydraulic beach platforms fold down from each side of the cockpit, which Scout says expands the cockpit from 105 to 150 square feet and widens the deck to about 17 feet 10 inches. Twin transom doors fold out of the way to reach a full-beam platform. A cockpit island has forward-facing bench seating, aft-facing bar stools, a sink, cooler, electric grill and drawer refrigerator.
For fishing there are two 30-gallon baitwells, two 65-gallon fish boxes, lockable in-deck rod storage and Scout's optional articulating rocket launchers, which raise and lower electrically and drop automatically when the SureShade awning deploys. The bow has U-shaped lounges with twin electrically adjustable tables that form a sun pad or dining area.
Helm technology and the systems behind it
The helm sits inside a glass enclosure with electrically sliding side windows and a sliding sunroof. Garmin displays in glass bezels are run through the Garmin GRID remote controller, with traditional switches as backup, heated helm seats and a bow camera that shows the view under and ahead of the bow. Salt Water Sportsman noted Zipwake trim tabs.
Scout lists a Seakeeper 6 gyro as standard equipment, although its current price is quoted with a deletion credit for the gyro, so confirm whether a given boat has one. A Fischer Panda 15 kW diesel generator is fed from an 80-gallon diesel tank, so generator use does not touch the gasoline. Holding tanks are 40 gallons each for black and gray water.
What it costs to run, and where the 670 fits
This is a yacht-scale operation. The standard quad XTO package burns about 79 gph at 4,500 rpm and 39.6 mph, and every package burns well over 100 gph near the top. Budget roughly $120,000 to $260,000 a year for a part-time or full-time captain, insurance, a 55-foot slip, service on four or five outboards, the generator and gyro, bottom work and electronics, plus fuel.
Scout's larger 670 LXS, launched in 2025 at close to $7 million, has moved the brand further into yacht territory. That leaves the 530 LXF as the more manageable flagship-class Scout, still large enough for overnights and Bahamas runs, but small enough for an experienced owner to run without crew.

How much does a Scout 530 LXF cost?
Scout lists a 2027 model-year starting price of $3,220,390 with standard engines, and the fine print says that figure includes a Seakeeper 6 deletion credit, so a boat with the gyro costs more. When the boat launched, Boating quoted $2,336,714 base and $2,536,032 as tested with five Yamaha XTO 425s, and Salt Water Sportsman listed $2,342,019 with four. Engine package, interior finish, electronics and the articulating rocket launchers drive the spread; on the used market, engine hours and generator and gyro service history matter most.

Compare side by sideOur verdict on the Scout 530 LXF
The Scout 530 LXF proved that a center console could carry a genuine two-cabin yacht interior without giving up speed or fishability. Its carbon and epoxy hull, glass helm and beach platforms still feel current, and the range of engine packages means there is a 530 for almost every owner's priorities. It is a costly boat to buy and to run, but for anyone moving down from a convertible or up from a 42-foot console, it is one of the most complete packages in the 50-foot class.
