Two Sunseeker Manhattan 55s, separated by a Manhattan 52
Search for a Sunseeker Manhattan 55 for sale and you will see a price spread that looks like a typo, from under $1 million to well over $2 million. That is because the name covers two distinct yachts. The first Manhattan 55 was built from 2013 to 2016. It was 60 feet 2 inches overall including the pulpit, had a 15-foot 5-inch beam and quoted 32 knots flat out with a 23-knot cruise.
Sunseeker then replaced it with the Manhattan 52, built from 2016 to 2021 on a new 56-foot 6-inch hull with a 16-foot beam. The 52 was a hit, winning flybridge categories at the 2017 Motor Boat Awards. In 2021 Sunseeker restyled that same hull and relaunched it as the Manhattan 55. The Gen 2 boat shares the 52's length, beam, draft, displacement and tankage, but got restyled exterior details, a refreshed interior by Design Unlimited and more power in the form of Volvo D13-800s. In January 2026 Sunseeker unveiled its successor, the Manhattan 56, at Boot Dusseldorf, a careful update of the same concept rather than a new boat.
For buyers, the practical lesson is simple: a Gen 2 Manhattan 55 is best understood as a heavily updated Manhattan 52, and a late 52 can be a value alternative if you can live with older styling and slightly less power.
Galley aft and the beach club pack
The defining layout choice on the Gen 2 Manhattan 55 is the aft galley. It sits at the back of the saloon, next to the cockpit doors, with a dishwasher and generous refrigeration. On a boat that will spend most of its life at anchor or tied to a dock with guests outside, this is the right answer: the cook serves the cockpit table without walking through the saloon, and the galley stays part of the party.
Behind the cockpit, the optional beach club pack turns the swim platform into a usable deck with a fold-down cooking area, a bench and an overhead shower. Motor Boat and Yachting singled this out as a key difference from the Princess F55. A YachtBuyer test also noted foldaway seating and a grill on the platform. If you are comparing used boats, a Manhattan 55 with the beach club pack is worth a meaningful premium for Bahamas use.
- Aft galley with dishwasher and large fridge storage
- Beach club pack with fold-down grill, bench and shower
- Flybridge with dual seating areas, wet bar and sunpad
- Bimini or fixed hardtop on the bridge
Three cabins below, with a crew option aft
The lower deck has a full-beam master with an en suite and a choice of chaise longue or breakfast table, a VIP forward with double overhead hatches, and a twin cabin. The VIP and twin share a head that doubles as the day head, so this is a two-bathroom boat for six guests. An optional crew cabin aft adds a berth for a captain or deckhand plus a utility area that can take a washing machine.
The YachtBuyer tester flagged two minor drawbacks: no facing sofas in the saloon, which limits conversation seating, and no side deck door at the lower helm, which means a solo skipper has to walk through the saloon to reach the lines. Neither will bother a couple who cruise with a captain, but owner operators who handle their own docking will feel the missing helm door.
Volvo D13-800 performance and the range trade-off
The Gen 2 boat runs twin 800 hp Volvo Penta D13 diesels on shafts as standard, with Volvo IPS1050 pods, built around the same D13 blocks, offered as an option (only about 30 percent of Manhattan 52s had pods, according to Motor Boat and Yachting). Sunseeker quoted 30 knots, YachtBuyer's testers reported over 30 knots flat out, and Motor Boat and Yachting recorded 32.5 knots on its 2021 test. The sweet spot is 25 to 26 knots, where the boat feels planted and quiet.
Range is where the Manhattan 55 gives something away. With 581 gallons aboard, Sunseeker quotes roughly 250 nautical miles at cruise, compared with 726 gallons in the Princess F55. That is fine for Fort Lauderdale to Bimini and back, or for cruising Long Island Sound, but it means planning fuel stops on longer runs. Motor Boat and Yachting calculated 196 nautical miles at 20 knots and 572 nautical miles at 7.8 knots, and the Manhattan 52 on the same hull quoted 470 nautical miles at 10 knots.
Gen 1 boats from 2013 to 2016 used a different hull and different engine packages, quoted 32 knots and a 23-knot cruise, and carried the same 581 gallons. Check engine type and hours on every Gen 1 listing, because specifications varied.
Ownership costs for a 56-foot Sunseeker in the US
A Manhattan 55 is a realistic owner-operator boat. Expect annual costs of roughly $100,000 to $180,000 in the US, excluding depreciation and fuel-heavy seasons. Insurance on a $2 million boat, a 60-foot slip, two Volvo D13 services, generator maintenance, bottom paint and detailing account for most of it. Adding a part-time captain for deliveries and Bahamas crossings raises the budget, but far less than full-time crew.
Sunseeker's US dealer network is strongest in South Florida, which simplifies warranty work and service on Gen 2 boats. Volvo parts and technicians are easy to find almost anywhere on the East Coast.
Depreciation and where the value sits
Gen 2 boats have held up well so far. The latest listings put 2023 boats around $1.7 million, and the model's average used price is around $2 million with a typical range of $1.5 million to $2.5 million. Gen 1 boats sit around $1 million or below, with a 2015 example recently listed in Jupiter, Florida at $958,000.
That makes the most interesting value question the one between a 2019 to 2021 Manhattan 52 and an early Gen 2 Manhattan 55. Both share the hull and layout concept. The 55 brings stronger engines, updated styling and a fresher interior, and it costs several hundred thousand dollars more. If you are mainly cruising at 20 knots and want the aft galley and the flybridge, a well kept late 52 is the smart buy. If you want the latest look and the beach club, pay up for the 55.
Sunseeker Manhattan 55 or Princess F55
These two boats are cross-shopped more than any other pair in the 55-foot flybridge class. Motor Boat and Yachting's head-to-head found them evenly matched in top speed and beam. The Sunseeker is about two feet shorter and lighter, with less fuel and slightly less power, but it has the more contemporary design, the aft galley and the beach club option. The Princess has more traditional styling, more storage, larger tanks and a slightly bigger master.
Our view: choose the Sunseeker if your boating is about entertaining at anchor and dockside, and the Princess if longer passages and range matter more.

How much does a Sunseeker Manhattan 55 cost?
The price gap between generations is the single most important fact for a Manhattan 55 shopper. Gen 1 boats from 2013 to 2016 trade around $850,000 to $1.1 million, while 2021 and later Gen 2 boats average about $2 million. When new in 2021, Motor Boat and Yachting listed the Gen 2 from 1.28 million pounds including VAT before options, so look for the beach club pack, hardtop, gyro and crew cabin when comparing asking prices.

Our verdict on the Sunseeker Manhattan 55
The Sunseeker Manhattan 55 is two boats under one name, and the right one depends on budget. The Gen 2 is a polished, entertaining focused flybridge with an aft galley, beach club and real 30-knot pace, held back only by modest fuel capacity and a two-head layout. The Gen 1 is an affordable way into the Sunseeker brand if you accept older styling. For most US buyers the sweet spot is a 2021 to 2023 Gen 2 with shafts and the beach club pack, or, if you want to save, a late Manhattan 52 on the same hull.
