The Ferretti 750 in brief
The Ferretti 750 is the 74-foot flybridge that opened a new chapter in how Ferretti boats looked. When Power and Motoryacht tested it off Fort Lauderdale for its July 2014 issue, the magazine called it the first product of a planned overhaul of the yard's exterior lines, with Studio Zuccon lengthening and enlarging the windows so the boat would read lower and brighter. Mechanically it was an evolution of the 2011 Ferretti 720, carrying over a proven hull concept but adding a hydraulic swim platform and new hardtop, bimini or roll-bar choices.
It was a short-lived model. Ferretti replaced it in 2017 with the 780, which Motor Boat and Yachting described as nominally based on the earlier 750 but with an entirely new superstructure. That makes the 750 a relatively rare boat on the brokerage market, usually seen as 2014 to 2017 hulls, and a sensible entry ticket to a four-cabin, crew-capable Ferretti for well under $2.5 million.
Bigger glass, lower look
The design trick on the 750 is visual. Long, deep salon windows and a flybridge that sweeps aft over the cockpit make a tall boat look stretched and low, and the test boat's bronze-painted hardtop broke up the profile further. Inside, PMY's tester found the light in the salon almost blinding and the space more like a boat 10 feet longer. The two-piece windshield with its center mullion still gave good sightlines from the lower helm, which is not something every glassy modern flybridge can claim.
Construction follows Ferretti practice of the period: a vinylester-laminated hull that is solid below the waterline and foam-cored above it to save weight. Ferretti's American team pitched the boat as a true sea boat for both North and South American buyers, and the test backed that up.
A main deck planned around an open galley
Ferretti offered three galley positions. The test boat had the galley forward of the salon and up one step, open to the living area, which Ferretti's US brand manager said suited North American owners who like to cook and entertain at the same time. It could instead be enclosed behind frosted glass, or moved below decks, an arrangement the yard expected to sell mainly in South America. Yachting later described the American option as a country kitchen layout.
Aft of the galley the salon spans the full beam, with an L-shaped sofa to port on the brokerage boats and a dining table toward the bow. The cockpit is a proper outdoor room with a teak sole and seating for about eight, with stairs to port leading to the flybridge and a separate stair aft to the crew area. Up top there is a U-shaped settee with table, a barbecue to port aft of the helm sunpad, a Fusion stereo and a Furuno NavNet helm on the PMY boat, and the foredeck carries another sunpad.
Four en suite cabins and roomy crew quarters
The lower deck follows the four-cabin pattern most buyers want at this size. The full-beam master amidships has a king-size berth, an air-conditioning layout with several vents so no corner gets frigid, and an en suite head with a very large L-shaped shower. Forward, mirror-image guest cabins to port and starboard each have twin berths and their own heads, and the VIP sits in the bow with its own bath and plenty of natural light.
Crew live aft, behind the engine room, reached from the cockpit. PMY rated both the captain's cabin and the crew bunk room as larger than on comparable European builds, a meaningful point for an owner who plans to keep a full-time captain and mate.
Swim platform or flybridge davit
The single biggest functional change from the 720 was the electrohydraulic swim platform. Yachting's brokerage write-up puts it at nearly 8 feet wide with a lifting capacity of about 1,000 pounds, enough for a tender of roughly 12 feet, and it can be lowered fully underwater to float the tender off. PMY saw a 13-foot tender fit on the test boat.
Ferretti also offered a davit on the aft end of the flybridge. Owners who choose both can carry a RIB on the platform and a personal watercraft up top, at the cost of some sunbathing space and extra weight high up. On a used boat, look at what was actually fitted and service records for the platform rams and davit hydraulics.
The 4 to 5-foot sea trial off Fort Lauderdale
PMY's numbers come from a boat with the standard MTU 10V 2000 engines, ZF 2150 A gearboxes at 2.714:1 and five-blade 50 x 56 Rolla propellers, loaded with 900 gallons of fuel, 60 gallons of water and four people. Seas were 4 to 5 feet, the kind of day many testers would have spent inside the Intracoastal. The 750 reached 31 knots at 2,410 rpm burning 152 gallons per hour, and settled at 26.5 knots and 114 gallons per hour at 2,100 rpm, a range of about 276 miles on the full 1,321-gallon tank with a 10 percent reserve.
Slow down and it becomes a long-legged cruiser: 8.9 knots at 900 rpm used just 10 gallons per hour for a theoretical 1,058 miles. Noise at the lower helm never passed 78 dB(A), and the boat turned in about four boat lengths, a little wide but with very little heel, which keeps flybridge guests in their seats. The 24-volt Side-Power bow and stern thrusters let the tester spin and walk the boat in a strong current on the way back in. Brokers quote the optional 1,524-hp MTU 10V 2000 M93s at about 32.5 knots top and 29 knots cruise, a builder figure rather than an independent test.
Engine room, generators and access
The engine room has standing headroom for a 6-foot tester, which makes routine checks pleasant rather than a crawl. Twin 23-kW Cummins Onan generators sit outboard to port and starboard, four Racor fuel-water separators are easy to reach, and a large overhead soft patch allows engine removal without cutting the boat, something that helps resale when a repower or major rebuild comes due.
Expect shafts, conventional rudders and ZF electronic steering. A decade on, the main service milestones are MTU major services by hours, gearbox and damper plate inspection, exhaust elbow and mixing-section checks, and the condition of the hydraulic steering and platform systems.
Buying a Ferretti 750 for sale today
Because so few were built before the 780 arrived, the US market rarely has more than a couple of Ferretti 750 listings at a time. The reference boat in 2025 and 2026 has been a 2017 hull in Miami Beach with the M93 upgrade, first offered at $2.255 million and later seen around $1.95 million. A 2015 boat has been listed in the same range. That puts realistic transaction values for clean 2014 to 2017 boats at roughly $1.6 million to $2.3 million, depending on hours, equipment and service history.
Annual costs are those of a crewed 75-footer: a captain, dockage for a boat with an 18-foot 8-inch beam, insurance, MTU servicing, bottom work and two generators. At 200 engine hours a year at fast cruise, fuel alone runs to more than 20,000 gallons. Budget about $200,000 to $340,000 a year in the US excluding depreciation.
- Best value: a 2016 or 2017 boat with M93 engines and documented MTU services
- Ask whether the galley is the open American version or the enclosed one; it changes how the salon lives
- Confirm the hardtop type, since bimini and roll-bar boats feel very different on the flybridge in Florida sun

How much does a Ferretti 750 cost?
Allied Marine first asked $2.255 million for a 2017 Ferretti 750 with the optional M93 engines and about 1,170 hours, and Denison now shows the same boat at roughly $1.95 million, with a 2015 boat nearby at about $1.99 million. Model year matters less than engine hours, the M93 upgrade, gyro or zero-speed stabilization, the hardtop and the quality of the last MTU service.

Compare side by sideOur verdict on the Ferretti 750
The Ferretti 750 is the forgotten link between the 2011 720 and the hugely successful 780, and that is exactly why it is worth a look. You get a genuinely seaworthy 74-footer with documented 31-knot performance in 5-foot seas, a big master, a sensible crew area and an engine room laid out for long-term maintenance, at a price that now overlaps with much smaller new flybridges. Buy the newest, best-serviced hull you can find, ideally with the M93s and stabilization, and accept that you are getting a 2014 layout rather than the 780's beach club and bigger glass.
