The Sunseeker Manhattan 68 grew out of the Manhattan 66

The Sunseeker Manhattan 68 did not arrive as a clean sheet. Its predecessor, the Manhattan 66, was built from 2017 to 2021, with 43 hulls delivered, and the 68 shares that boat's 17-foot 3-inch beam, its 1,057-gallon fuel capacity, its 238 gallons of water and its 550-mile range at 10 knots. What changed was the length and the way Sunseeker used it. The 68 stretches to 69 feet 7 inches overall and reworks the main deck around a separate dining area next to the aft galley, plus a transom designed around water toys.

The boat made its debut at boot Düsseldorf in January 2020, where its transom toy locker drew most of the attention. The model earned a nomination for Best Layout at the 2020 World Yachts Trophies and was a finalist in the flybridge over 60 feet category at the 2022 Motor Boat Awards. In 2025 Sunseeker refreshed it substantially, which splits the used market into a 2020 to 2024 first generation and a 2025 onward second generation.

A transom built around a Seabob

The feature most owners show off is at the back. The 68 has a dedicated water sports locker in the transom sized for a Seabob, with a charging point. When the hydraulic bathing platform lowers, the scooter slides straight into the water. It sounds like a gimmick until you have spent a week in the Exumas and realize your guests used the toys every day because nobody had to wrestle them out of a lazarette.

The platform also lifts a tender, and Sunseeker's beach club approach makes the aft end of the boat a social space rather than just a boarding step. Optional crew quarters aft have their own deck access, so a captain can come and go without crossing guest areas.

  • Hydraulic bathing platform with tender capability

Aft galley with a dining room of its own

On the main deck, the galley is aft, next to the cockpit doors, with a separate dining area beside it. Forward is a lounge and the lower helm. This was a new layout for the 68 and it works well for families who eat aboard most nights, because the dining table no longer competes with the saloon seating.

YachtBuyer's reviewer identified two trade-offs on first generation boats: the new dining arrangement reduced galley stowage, and the lower helm got a single flip-up bench instead of twin helm seats. If you drive from inside often, sit at the helm for a while during your sea trial. The 2025 update reworked the galley and dining arrangement and offered a choice of staircase layouts.

Four cabins or three with a bigger owner's suite

Below, first generation boats have four cabins: a full-beam master amidships with an en suite and a forward-facing berth, a VIP in the bow with its own head, and two twin cabins that share a head. The master offers a choice of chaise longue or club seating. That makes the 68 a true four cabin family boat at a size where some rivals offer only three.

The 2025 boat adds a three cabin option with a larger owner's suite reached by a private staircase. For a couple who host occasional guests, the three cabin layout is the better boat to live on. For resale, four cabins usually wins in the US market, so think about how long you plan to keep the yacht before you choose.

MAN shafts, Volvo pods and the 2025 engine list

First generation boats offered three drivetrains. Standard was a pair of MAN V8-1000 diesels of 986 hp on shafts, the upgrade was MAN V8-1200s at 1,200 hp each, and the alternative was Volvo Penta IPS1350 pods at 1,000 hp each for joystick docking. YachtBuyer reported that the pods added roughly 10 percent to the base price and that most buyers chose shafts. Its review quotes a top end of 30 to 32 knots and a 20 to 26 knot cruise depending on engines.

On the 2025 boat Sunseeker drops the pods and lists MAN V8-1000 or V8-1200 shafts, while Power & Motoryacht's 2025 review also lists a twin MAN V12 option, with performance figures for the bigger engines not yet published. With the V8s the builder and the magazine both quote 32 knots and a 25-knot cruise, with range of about 550 nautical miles at 10 knots. Confirm exactly which engines a given 2025 boat carries, because the published engine lists do not fully agree.

What changed on the 2025 Manhattan 68

Sunseeker's 2025 refresh touched almost every area. The cockpit lost its U-shaped seating in favor of a more space-efficient L-shaped layout and a wider transom area. On the flybridge, U-shaped seating aft surrounds a folding teak table for ten, under an electric sunshade. Inside, Design Unlimited's new interior leans on lacquered planking and lighter finishes, giving the boat a brighter and more contemporary feel, and the companion seat opposite the lower helm was removed to enlarge the saloon seating.

The galley and dining arrangement was reworked, buyers can choose between a single staircase that frees main deck space or a private stair to the master, and a three cabin layout was added. The 2025 boat was nominated in the Motor Yacht 21 to 24 meter category of the 2025 Yacht Style Awards. If you like the look and can afford the premium, the refresh fixes the first generation's main weaknesses.

Owning a 70-foot Sunseeker

Most Manhattan 68 owners run with at least a part-time captain, and many keep a full-time captain. Expect roughly $220,000 to $360,000 a year in US running costs excluding depreciation. Insurance, dockage for a 70-foot boat, crew salaries, MAN or Volvo services, generator and stabilizer maintenance, and an annual haul make up the budget. Fuel is the variable: a 1,000-plus gallon fill is a $4,000 to $5,000 event at current diesel prices.

Sunseeker's US presence is concentrated in Florida, which is also where most used 68s are found. If you keep the boat in the Northeast for summer, confirm a local MAN or Volvo dealer is comfortable with the specific drivetrain before you buy.

Finding a Manhattan 68 for sale

This is a thin market. YachtBuyer's listing data showed no Manhattan 68s for sale globally at one point in 2026, and first generation boats historically took around 18 months to sell and sold a few percent below asking. That combination means patience is required, and a broker who knows the Sunseeker owner community well is worth having. Off-market boats change hands regularly.

If no 68 is available, a 2018 or 2019 Manhattan 66 offers much of the same experience at roughly $1.6 to $2.1 million, though without the Seabob locker or separate dining area.

Figures come from builder documentation and independent tests where available. Displacement is usually quoted light, so a loaded cruising boat will weigh more. Compare these specs with another model.

How much does a Sunseeker Manhattan 68 cost?

New, typical sail-away$3.8M to $4.6M
Used, typical asking$2.2M to $3.6M
Yearly running costs$220K to $360K

Few Manhattan 68s come to market, so prices are driven by individual boat specification more than by model averages. Engine choice matters: MAN V8-1200 boats command more than base V8-1000 or IPS examples. A hardtop flybridge, gyro stabilizer and the crew cabin are the other big value drivers, and a 2025 redesign boat sits well above the early hulls. For context, the outgoing Manhattan 66 trades at about $1.6 to $2.1 million for 2018 and 2019 boats.

Our verdict on the Sunseeker Manhattan 68

The Sunseeker Manhattan 68 is a family flybridge designed by people who clearly spent time at anchor with water toys. The Seabob locker, aft galley with separate dining and four cabin layout are genuinely useful, and the choice of MAN shafts or Volvo pods lets buyers match the drivetrain to their docking skills. First generation boats have small flaws in galley storage and helm seating that the 2025 refresh largely fixed. Used boats are scarce, so if you find a well kept MAN V8-1200 example with a hardtop and service history, move quickly.
