The Lamborghini yacht, minus the hype

When people search for the Lamborghini yacht, this is the boat they mean. The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is a 20-meter open sport yacht built in Italy by Tecnomar, the performance brand of The Italian Sea Group, and styled jointly by Automobili Lamborghini Centro Stile and Tecnomar's in-house design studio. The partnership was announced on May 25, 2020, and the boat had its world premiere on June 30, 2020.

Lamborghini does not build the boat, it licenses its name and puts its stylists on the project. Warranty, service and parts run through The Italian Sea Group and the MAN engine network, not a Lamborghini car dealer.

On paper the numbers are outrageous for a day yacht. Two MAN V12 diesels produce 2,000 horsepower each, Tecnomar's specification sheet quotes a maximum speed of 60 knots (its marketing copy now even says 63) and a cruising speed of 40 knots, and the boat can carry 12 guests with two crew. Very few production yachts of this size have ever been sold with a 60-knot claim.

Why 63 is a date, not a length

The name confuses almost everyone. The 63 does not refer to feet. It refers to 1963, the year Ferruccio Lamborghini founded his car company, and it is also the number of hulls Tecnomar committed to build. Lamborghini used the same trick on the Sian FKP 37, a 63-unit hybrid hypercar that carries the number 63 on its winglets and that served as the direct design reference for the yacht.

The actual boat is bigger than the name suggests. Tecnomar lists a length overall of 20 meters, which is 65.6 feet, a waterline length of 17.85 meters and a beam of 5.42 meters, about 17 feet 9 inches. In the dock that makes it a 65-footer, and marinas will bill it as one.

The 63-unit cap is the heart of the investment story. Unlimited production would have made this a styling exercise. A fixed run gives each hull a number, a provenance and a reason to be collected, much like the car it imitates.

Sian design language translated to a hull

The exterior lines came from the Sian FKP 37. The superstructure is low and wedge-shaped, the windscreen wraps around the cockpit like a canopy, and the hexagon, a Lamborghini signature since the Countach, shows up in the deck hardware, the vents and the lighting graphics. The Y motif from the Sian headlights appears in the yacht's styling as well.

Tecnomar built the hull with vacuum-infused GRP and used carbon fiber extensively in the structure and trim to keep weight down; the launch announcement put displacement at about 24 tons, low enough for an ultra-light classification, which is the only way two 2,000 horsepower engines can push a 20-meter boat toward 60 knots. Carbon is also what you see. Exposed weave panels on the dashboard, deck pieces and fittings make the boat look like a car interior turned inside out.

Does it work as yacht design? Mostly yes. With no flybridge and no tall hardtop, the proportions are cleaner than most Italian sport yachts of this size. The trade-off is shade, which is far scarcer than on a hardtop such as the Wajer 55 HT.

4,000 horsepower and the 60-knot claim

The powertrain is a pair of MAN V12-2000 diesels, 4,000 horsepower in total, with a 12.5 kW diesel generator for the house load. Tecnomar quotes 60 knots flat out and 40 knots at cruise. For context, most 60 to 70 foot express yachts top out in the mid 30s, and even dedicated performance builders rarely push beyond the low 40s at this length with diesel power.

Treat the top speed as a light-load, calm-water figure; in a two to three foot chop the usable number will be well below the brochure. The 40-knot cruise matters more, because it turns Miami to Bimini or Monaco to Saint-Tropez into a short hop.

Fuel is the price of that speed. Tecnomar does not publish a consumption curve, but two 2,000 horsepower diesels working hard will burn well over 100 US gallons per hour combined at fast cruise. That is not a criticism, it is the physics of moving a heavy boat at car-like speeds, and it is why most owners treat the 63 as a day boat that covers short distances very quickly rather than a long-range cruiser.

Inside the Lambo yacht, cockpit first

The helm is where the car connection is strongest. The dashboard, seats and steering wheel were drawn to echo the Sian, with digital displays, carbon surfaces and a start procedure that feels closer to a supercar than a yacht. Owners say the driving position is the best part of the boat, low and enclosed by the screen, with the throttles falling naturally to hand.

Aft of the helm the deck is given over to guests, with lounging and seating areas and a sun pad laid out for a day at anchor. With 12 people aboard it gets busy, so most owners run it with six to eight guests.

Below decks this is a day yacht with a place to sleep: a single guest cabin with a double berth, a head and a compact lounge in leather, Alcantara and carbon, with limited crew space. If you want three cabins at this length, look elsewhere.

How much is a Lamborghini yacht in 2026?

At launch the base price was widely reported at roughly 3 million euros before VAT. In 2026 dollars, and with typical options, a new Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 realistically lands between about $3.8 million and $4.8 million. Paint, carbon packages, upgraded electronics, stabilization and delivery to the US all add to the bill, and European VAT or US import duty can add six figures more depending on how the boat is registered.

Used boats are rare because only a fraction of the 63 hulls change hands each year. Asking prices for 2021 to 2025 boats generally sit between $2.6 million and $4.2 million. The spread is driven less by age than by hull number, livery, engine hours and whether the boat has been run commercially. A low-hour boat in an iconic Lamborghini color with full service records from the builder will trade at the top.

Conor McGregor's 2021 purchase put the boat on millions of phones. Reports put his boat at roughly $3 to $3.5 million, never officially confirmed, and celebrity provenance only adds value when it is documented.

What a 60-knot day yacht costs to run

The purchase price is the easy part. A realistic annual budget for a privately owned 63, excluding depreciation, runs from about $300,000 to $600,000. A full-time captain and a deckhand account for a large share of that, and few insurers will cover a 60-knot boat of this size without a professional captain named on the policy.

Insurance itself is expensive, often 1.5 to 2.5 percent of hull value per year for high-performance yachts, and higher in hurricane zones. Dockage for a 66-foot boat in Miami Beach, Monaco or Porto Cervo can exceed $60,000 a season. Then there is MAN engine servicing, propulsion and running-gear maintenance, carbon and gelcoat care, and fuel, which on a boat that cruises at 40 knots can easily run into six figures a year for an active owner.

Lamborghini on the water before Tecnomar

Ferruccio Lamborghini was a boat person long before the 63. In 1968 Riva built a one-off Aquarama for him powered by two Lamborghini V12 car engines, a boat now treated as one of the most valuable Rivas in existence and covered on our Riva Aquarama page. Lamborghini also developed V12 marine racing engines that powered offshore powerboats in the 1980s and 1990s.

The Tecnomar partnership is the first time the brand has put its name on a series-built yacht. It has since grown into a small fleet. The larger Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101 FT, a 31-meter aluminum yacht with three 16V 2000 M96L diesels totaling 7,600 horsepower on surface drives, a quoted 45-knot top speed and four cabins, made its world premiere at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show. For buyers who love the 63 but want to sleep aboard, it is the obvious step up.

Buying one, and the builder question

Because Lamborghini is the licensor, the health of The Italian Sea Group matters to every owner. The group, which also owns Admiral and Perini Navi and listed on the Milan exchange in 2021, went through a leadership change on July 20, 2026, when founder Giovanni Costantino resigned as chairman and CEO while the company was in a court-supervised crisis resolution procedure that followed a sharp rise in project costs and an external review of its finances. Nothing about that changes how the boats run, but any buyer contracting a new hull in 2026 should get independent advice on deposit protection, stage payments and warranty support.

For a used boat, hire a surveyor with high-performance diesel and composite experience, not just a generalist. Insist on a full engine survey with oil analysis on both V12s, a sea trial at sustained cruise rather than a quick blast, and an infrared scan of the carbon structures. Ask for the hull number and the builder's delivery documents, because in a 63-unit run the paper trail is part of the value.

How much does a Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 cost?

New, typical sail-away$3.8M to $4.8M
Used, typical asking$2.6M to $4.2M
Yearly running costs$300K to $600K

Launch pricing in 2020 was widely reported at around 3 million euros before VAT, and real contracts climbed with bespoke paint, carbon trim and electronics. Because the run is capped at 63 hulls, hull number, original color specification and documented engine hours move used prices more than model year does. Boats that were delivered to high-profile owners or carry the launch-spec Sian-inspired livery tend to ask the most, while boats with heavy charter or demo use trade at the bottom of the range.

Our verdict on the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63

The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is not the most sensible 65-foot yacht you can buy, and it was never meant to be. It is a limited-edition object with a real 40-knot cruise, a design authored by the people who draw Lamborghini's cars, and a numbered run that gives it collector logic most production yachts lack. Buy it as you would buy a limited Lamborghini: for the experience and the provenance, with a professional captain, a generous running budget and a careful contract. Buy it as a family cruiser and you will be disappointed.
