The Aquasport 2500 CC is a 24-foot 10-inch, 8-foot 10-inch-beam center console built by Ebbtide in White Bluff, Tennessee in the late 2010s and early 2020s. It carries 176 gallons of fuel, up to 500 hp and Kevlar-reinforced construction.

Best for
  • Nearshore and offshore anglers on a budget
  • Trailer boaters who want range
  • Owners comfortable sourcing parts
  • Second boats for fishing families

The Aqua Sport name and its many owners

Search for aqua sport or Aquasport and you will find boats from four very different eras, which is why this model needs context. Aquasport founders Fred Coburn and Lennox Sargent unveiled a 22-foot modified-vee fishing boat in 1964, among the first center consoles, and the brand became revered by anglers. Genmar later bought it and built Aquasports until it shelved the line in 2005.

The name returned in the following decade under Ebbtide in Tennessee. By 2016 the revived Aquasport was selling the 2500 CC, and Salt Water Sportsman and Sport Fishing described the brand in 2019 as a division of Ebbtide Holdings building center-console, dual-console and bay boats, with the 2500 CC the largest of three center consoles.

That chapter ended abruptly. According to Power and Motoryacht, the White Bluff, Tennessee factory closed after its owner, Canada's Limestone Boats, ran into financial trouble, and when Twin Vee took over in June 2023 the crew found boats still sitting in the hull molds. Twin Vee briefly restarted production in White Bluff, then moved it to Fort Pierce, Florida, and launched an all-new lineup topped by the 28AS. The 2500 CC is not part of it.

The Hydra-Sports connection

Ebbtide's Aquasport revival has a second family tree. Hydra-Sports began building Kevlar-infused fishing boats in Nashville in 1973, was acquired by Genmar in 2001 and became famous for its high-sided, deep-vee Vector hulls. Power and Motoryacht reports that the original Hydra-Sports molds eventually ended up at Ebbtide, where they served as the foundation for Aquasport's rejuvenation of the Vector design.

The 2500 CC's published construction reads in that tradition: hand-laid biaxial fiberglass and woven roving, an integrated fiberglass structural stringer, Kevlar reinforcement and a composite transom core. We could not confirm from a primary source exactly which hull the 2500 CC shares with earlier Hydra-Sports or Aquasport models, so shoppers comparing it with a Hydra-Sports 2500 should look at the boats side by side rather than assume they are identical.

A 23-degree hull with long legs

On paper the 2500 CC is a serious little offshore boat. Overall length is 24 feet 10 inches, beam 8 feet 10 inches, draft 1 foot 9 inches and transom deadrise 23 degrees. Dry weight is listed at 4,200 pounds before engines, and the rating allows up to 500 hp.

The standout figure is fuel: 176 gallons is a lot for a 25-footer, more than many 28-foot consoles carry, and owners surveyed by Sport Fishing singled out excellent fuel consumption as a strength. Combined with the flared bow, tall freeboard and Kevlar-reinforced bottom, it makes the boat a credible platform for running offshore to reefs, wrecks and weed lines.

No magazine published an instrumented speed and fuel test for this model that we could find, so we have not listed top speed or cruise numbers. Performance will depend heavily on whether a boat carries a single large outboard or twins.

A layout aimed squarely at fishing

The deck plan is classic Aquasport practicality. The helm sits behind a tempered-glass windshield with room on the dash for multiple electronics, and the standard aluminum T-top carries four rod holders and two spreader lights; an optional fiberglass T-top adds a fifth rod holder.

For fishing there is a 30-gallon insulated above-deck baitwell, insulated forward fish boxes with overboard drains, four gunwale rod holders and under-gunwale rod racks on both sides. The transom has folding rear seats and an integrated swim platform. Up front, bow cushions are standard, and a forward console seat sits on a built-in cooler. The console is entered through a side door.

Options included color choices, a stereo, a handheld cold-water shower, trim tabs, a portable toilet and raw-water and pressurized freshwater washdowns. Those last two are worth seeking out on a used boat.

Running costs and the orphan-boat question

A 25-foot outboard console is one of the cheaper ways to fish offshore. Budget roughly $5,000 to $12,000 a year for fuel, engine service, insurance, trailer or storage and routine upkeep, more if the boat lives in a wet slip.

The bigger question is support. With Ebbtide's Aquasport factory closed and the brand now owned by Twin Vee with a different lineup, there is no factory warranty to transfer and model-specific parts such as hatches, gaskets and console components may need to be sourced or fabricated. Outboards are supported by their own dealers, so the engine side is not a problem.

Trailering deserves a note too. The 2500 CC's 8-foot 10-inch beam is wider than the 8-foot 6-inch limit many US states apply to trailers without a permit, so check your state's rules before planning regular highway towing, and make sure the trailer is rated for the boat's dry weight plus engines, fuel and gear. A full 176-gallon load alone adds roughly half a ton.

Pricing a used 2500 CC

We could not find a published MSRP or a reliable set of recent listings for this model, so our used range of about $45,000 to $95,000 is an estimate based on similar 25-foot fishing consoles of the same vintage. Expect single-engine boats with older outboards at the bottom and late boats on twins with the fiberglass T-top and good electronics at the top.

If you are shopping 25 ft boat for sale listings generally, the 2500 CC's 176-gallon tank and 23-degree hull are its trump cards. Its weakness is the brand's turbulent history, which should be reflected in the price.

Ask sellers for the original build sheet or window sticker if they have it, since Ebbtide-era options such as the fiberglass T-top, washdowns and trim tabs varied from boat to boat and are hard to add later.

Figures come from builder documentation and independent tests where available. Displacement is usually quoted light, so a loaded cruising boat will weigh more. Compare these specs with another model.

How much does a Aquasport 2500 CC cost?

Used, typical asking$45K to $95K
Yearly running costs$5K to $12K

We could not find a published MSRP or a magazine price for the 2500 CC, so these are estimates based on comparable 25-foot fishing consoles of the same age. Single versus twin outboards, engine hours, the fiberglass T-top option and electronics drive most of the spread. Because the builder closed, buyers may negotiate on parts and warranty uncertainty.

Our verdict on the Aquasport 2500 CC

The Aquasport 2500 CC is a capable, honestly built 25-foot fishing console with two things few rivals match at this size: a 23-degree deep-vee and 176 gallons of fuel. Its weakness is not the boat but the brand's turbulent history, which leaves owners without a factory behind them. Buy one at a price that reflects that, favor boats with washdowns and well-maintained outboards, and you get a lot of offshore capability for the money.
