Azimut S8 price snapshot for 2026

Most people researching the Azimut S8 want one number first, so here it is: used S8s were asking between roughly $2.9 million and $5.5 million in October 2026, with an average near $3.7 million, according to YachtBuyer's Market Watch. Four of the six boats it tracked were in the United States: a 2022 boat in Palm Beach at $3.1 million, a 2023 at $2.999 million, a 2024 at $3.599 million and a 2025 at $4.75 million. In Europe a 2021 boat in Varazze asked 2.59 million euros, about $2.9 million.

Recent closing asks fill in the picture. YachtBuyer recorded a 2020 S8 last offered at $2.8 million in July 2026, a 2023 at $3.9 million in May 2025 and a 2024 at $4 million in March 2026. Thirteen S8s were listed over three years with an average of 418 days on the market, which tells you this is a buyer's market for patient shoppers. A 2021 Azimut S8 price or a 2022 Azimut S8 price will therefore land around $2.8 to $3.4 million for a well-kept boat.

What the S8 is, and how it differs from the S7

The S8 arrived as a late entry at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival, earned a special commendation in the Best Evolution Product category at the 2019 World Yachts Trophies, and made its American debut at the Miami Yacht Show in 2020. It is the 24-meter member of the S family, larger than the 71-foot S7 and well above the 59-foot S6, and unlike them it carries four guest cabins plus crew for two.

French designer Alberto Mancini drew the exterior, with long hull windows and sculpted bulwark cappings meant to look wind-drawn rather than the angular Righini language of the smaller S boats. YachtBuyer describes a discreet upper sports bridge above the hardtop; the lower helm remains the primary station. Azimut keeps the triple-pod formula of the S series but scales it up to three 1,000 hp Volvo Penta IPS1350 units built on the 13-liter D13.

A galley on its own half deck

The S8's cleverest layout decision is to move the galley onto an intermediate level between the main and lower decks. That frees the main deck for guests, with a long salon, dining area and helm under a big glazed roof, while the cook works out of sight with direct access to crew areas. It suits owners who run the boat with a captain and stew, and it is less ideal for owner-operators who like to cook while talking to guests.

Outdoors, the aft cockpit has long seating and a sunpad that hides a tender garage big enough for a RIB and a personal watercraft. Forward, a matching bow lounge in the same steel, teak and carbon styling becomes a sheltered retreat stern-to in a harbor. YachtBuyer's reviewers call the style sports luxury, which is fair.

Four cabins and a crew area for two

Below, a full-beam owner's stateroom sits amidships with deep hull-side windows and a dressing area. A forward VIP suite and two twin cabins complete the guest accommodation, giving four guest heads in total, and Azimut lists two crew berths with one crew head. The original interiors by Francesco Guida came in two decor versions, Platinum and Black Pearl, and Azimut's current data sheet credits Yachtique, so check which scheme a used boat carries.

Triple IPS1350 performance, builder figures only

Azimut quotes a top speed of up to 34 knots and a cruise of up to 28 knots at its performance test mass, and YachtBuyer lists a range of about 275 nautical miles at 28 knots from 1,057 gallons of fuel. We did not find an independent instrumented test of the S8 with rpm, speed and fuel columns, so treat these as manufacturer numbers.

The hull is a V planing form with 20 degrees of deadrise amidships easing to 14 at the stern. Automated interceptors trim the boat continuously and correct heel from crosswinds or uneven loading, and the carbon superstructure is said to cut natural roll momentum by up to 15 percent. A Garmin-based monitoring system, customized by Azimut, shows engine data, bilge pumps, tanks, ventilation, audio and air conditioning at both helms and on a tablet. Azimut also claims the triple pods and carbon save 20 to 30 percent fuel over a comparable shaft-drive boat in the main speed range, a figure worth sanity-checking on your own sea trial.

S6, S7 or S8, choosing within the family

All three current S models share the triple-pod idea, carbon upper structures and a sport yacht profile, but they serve different owners. The S6 is 59 feet 1 inch with three cabins plus a crew berth on three IPS700s, a true owner-operator boat. The S7 is 71 feet 2 inches with four cabins plus one crew, and Azimut quotes it at 8.8 liters per nautical mile at an 18.6-knot slow cruise and 10.4 liters per mile at 27 knots, good for 387 and 328 miles.

The S8 adds about ten feet and a second crew berth, the split-level galley and more beam, at 18 feet 3 inches against 16 feet 11 inches on the S7. If you will run with a captain and want four guest cabins without a full flybridge, it is the logical step; if you drive yourself, the S7 is easier to handle and cheaper to keep.

Owning an 81-foot sport yacht with three pods

Three IPS1350s mean three sets of drive services, anodes, bellows and propellers on every haul-out, and three engines to keep current on software. In exchange you get joystick docking that makes an 81-footer manageable for a small crew and pods that Volvo Penta service networks know well. Most US owners run the S8 with a full-time captain and at least one more crew member.

Allowing for crew, dockage for an 81-foot boat, insurance on a $3 to $5 million hull, maintenance and haul-outs, a realistic annual budget before fuel runs around $280,000 to $480,000. Depreciation has been steep from new, but the gap between 2020 and 2022 boats is narrow, which makes an early hull with a refreshed interior and documented pod servicing the sweet spot.

Figures come from builder documentation and independent tests where available. Displacement is usually quoted light, so a loaded cruising boat will weigh more. Compare these specs with another model.

How much does a Azimut S8 cost?

New, typical sail-away$4.8M to $5.8M
Used, typical asking$2.7M to $4.8M
Yearly running costs$280K to $480K

Azimut does not publish US list prices, so the new range is our estimate from late-model asking prices, including a 2025 boat at $4.75 million and a VAT-paid 2023 boat in Spain at 4.95 million euros. YachtBuyer tracked six used S8s in October 2026 between about $2.9 and $5.5 million, averaging $3.7 million, with recent asks of $2.8 million for a 2020 hull and $3.9 to $4 million for 2023 and 2024 boats. Interior decor, Seakeeper, crew spec and IPS hours explain most of the spread.

Our verdict on the Azimut S8

The Azimut S8 is the S series grown up: the same triple-pod sport yacht recipe, now with four cabins, a crew area and a galley moved out of the guests' way. Its weaknesses are the short fast-cruise range and the lack of independent test data, but used prices have fallen far enough that a 2020 to 2022 boat looks like strong value against a new build. Buy one with full pod service records, sea trial it hard, and plan to run it with a captain.
