The Azimut Atlantis 45 is a 47 ft 11 in two-cabin hardtop sport cruiser in production since 2019, first with twin Volvo Penta IPS600 pods and now IPS650s rated 480 hp each. Power and Motoryacht saw 34 knots; 2026 listings run from about $650,000 to $1.25 million.

Best for
  • Couples and small families wanting a new Azimut
  • Owner-operators who value joystick docking
  • Warm-weather weekend cruising
  • Stepping up from a 38 to 42 foot express

The Azimut Atlantis 45 at a glance

The Azimut Atlantis 45 is the smaller of the two boats Azimut still builds under the Atlantis name, and for many buyers it is the cheapest way to own a new Azimut. It made its international debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2019, came to the US for the 2020 Palm Beach show, and replaced the Atlantis 43, a boat Azimut says sold more than 140 hulls in four years.

At 47 feet 11 inches overall with a 13-foot 9-inch beam, it is a two-cabin, two-head express cruiser with an open-backed hardtop, a sliding roof and Volvo Penta IPS pod drives. Azimut's current spec sheet lists IPS650s at 480 hp each, a top speed of up to 35 knots and a 30-knot cruise; early boats ran IPS600s and Azimut quoted 33 knots.

What changed from the 43

Azimut did not want to throw out a winning formula, and MBY described the updates as evolutionary. The biggest changes are underneath and up front. The 43's DPH sterndrives gave way to IPS pods with joystick control, adding roughly 80 hp per boat on the IPS600 version, and the bow borrowed the near-vertical stem of the Atlantis 51, which stretches the waterline and gives the 45 a much more modern profile. A long tinted window in the topsides, compared by Power and Motoryacht to a knife blade, visually lowers the hull.

The other big change is the deck. Unusually for an open boat of this size, the main deck is flush and step-free from the swim platform to the helm, and a single-piece curved windscreen with no center mullion gives the helmsman a cleaner view than the 43.

Main deck, hardtop and storage

Under the hardtop the 45 has an L-shaped bar to port, a raised upholstered lounge opposite the helm (Power and Motoryacht's tester called it an ottoman), and a starboard sofa that flows aft into the sun pad over the tender garage. The garage takes an 8-foot RIB, and the optional hydraulic platform can handle a tender over 9 feet. A steel-supported fabric extension can shade more of the cockpit.

The weakness is floor space: once several people stand up, the cockpit feels busy. The payoff is below. That raised lounge creates standing headroom in the guest cabin, and Azimut claims nearly 8,000 liters (about 282 cubic feet) of storage volume across the boat, a figure testers found believable.

  • Sliding roof over the helm and lounge
  • Bow sun pad with cup holders
  • Teak or Esthec composite decking depending on spec
  • Optional telescopic passerelle and Garmin electronics packages

Two big cabins instead of three small ones

Azimut chose quality over cabin count. The lower deck centers on a saloon with a long galley to starboard and a U-shaped sofa to port that, with a filler, becomes an extra berth. The master is forward with a lifting berth base and generous lockers. The midships guest cabin is the clever one: twin berths slide together into a queen, a full-height cabinet by the entrance can be configured as a third bed, and Power and Motoryacht measured 6 feet 3 inches of headroom on the port side.

Both heads have separate shower stalls, and the guest head doubles as the day head. There is no three-cabin version and no enclosed deckhouse option, so buyers who need either should look at the Atlantis 51 or a coupe rival.

IPS performance, measured

Power and Motoryacht tested an IPS600 boat in a Cannes downpour with seven aboard and plenty of fuel and water, and still recorded a two-way top speed of 34 knots, beating Azimut's published 33. The boat planed from rest in about eight seconds and reached top speed roughly 20 seconds later. The tester found the sweet spot for efficient fast cruising at about 3,000 rpm, or 26 to 27 knots, and noted the hull would stay on plane down to 15 knots.

MBY, testing in the same storm, timed zero to 20 knots in 11 seconds and 30 knots in about 22, and measured a fuel burn of just 93 liters per hour for both engines at 26 knots, about 24.6 gph. That works out to roughly a mile per gallon, very good for a 16-tonne boat.

Handling is livelier than many IPS boats, though not as sharp as the sterndrive 43. Both testers found the hull would slam if driven obliquely into its own wake at speed, but it sliced cleanly through head-on. Volvo's automatic trim was the one option Power and Motoryacht said it would put at the top of the list.

New versus used in 2026

The Atlantis 45 remains in Azimut's 2026 range, so you can order one new with IPS650s. Expect a realistically optioned new boat to land between roughly $1.1 million and $1.35 million in the US, depending on the stabilizer, platform, electronics and finish choices.

Used boats are plentiful because the model sold well in the US through MarineMax and other Azimut dealers. In April 2026 Yachting counted 28 on the market from $650,000 to $1.25 million. Early IPS600 boats from 2019 and 2020 sit at the bottom of that range; late IPS650 boats with a Seakeeper, Volvo assisted docking and low hours sit at the top. Searching for "azimut a45" returns the same boat.

What it costs to keep one

At 26 to 28 knots the boat burns around 25 gph, so a 100-hour season uses about 2,500 gallons. IPS pods need scheduled service (oil, filters, anodes, props and bellows checks) at manufacturer intervals, and a Seakeeper adds its own maintenance. With a 48-foot slip, insurance, bottom paint and routine service, a US owner should plan on roughly $38,000 to $70,000 a year before depreciation.

How much does a Azimut Atlantis 45 cost?

New, typical sail-away$1.1M to $1.35M
Used, typical asking$650K to $1M
Yearly running costs$38K to $70K

Power and Motoryacht listed the Atlantis 45 at $820,000 in 2020. In April 2026 Yachting counted 28 Atlantis 45s for sale between $650,000 and $1.25 million, with dealer listings such as a 2022 boat at $929,000 and a 2023 IPS650 boat with a Seakeeper 6 and Volvo assisted docking at $899,000. Gyro stabilization, the IPS650 upgrade, the hydraulic platform and tender launch system, and Garmin electronics packages push prices up; new-boat pricing depends heavily on the options list and exchange rate.

Our verdict on the Azimut Atlantis 45

The Azimut Atlantis 45 is a smart evolution rather than a revolution. It keeps the 43's two excellent cabins, adds joystick ease, a flush deck and a sharper look, and returns close to a mile per gallon at a 26-knot cruise. It is not the roomiest boat on deck and it only comes one way, but as a new or nearly new Azimut it offers real quality and strong resale. Late IPS650 boats with a gyro are the ones to shortlist.
