The Azimut 32 Metri at a glance

The Azimut 32 Metri sits in the middle of the Grande family both in size and in personality. At 105 feet including the pulpit and almost 24 feet wide, Azimut pitched it as a serious wide-body, meaning the main deck interior pushes out toward the hull sides for much of its length, so the saloon and the owner's suite feel a size class bigger. Azimut gave it a world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2018, and YachtBuyer reports its US debut at the Miami Yacht Show in 2020.

Over the years the badge drifted from Grande 32 Metri to Grande 32M, which is why buyers search for "azimut 32 metri", "azimut grande 32m" and "azimut 32m" interchangeably. They are the same boat. About 30 have been built according to YachtBuyer's estimate, and 13 of them were offered for sale over a recent three-year window, so there is a genuine market to shop.

D2P, the hull that won the naval architecture prize

In 2019 the 32 Metri took the Best Naval Architecture award for semi-displacement or planing motor yachts at the Boat International Design and Innovation Awards. The reason is the D2P, short for displacement to planing, hull developed by Pierluigi Ausonio with the Azimut Benetti research center. It is a double-chine form that ends in a wave-piercing bow, which lengthens the waterline (93 feet 3 inches here), softens entry into a head sea and reduces drag at slower speeds.

The idea is a hull that is efficient across a wide band rather than only at full plane. MBY quoted a top speed of 26.5 knots and a fast cruise of 21 knots from a pair of 2,200 hp class MTUs moving all 142 tonnes, and a range of almost 1,000 nautical miles if you throttle back to 12 knots. That second number is what sets the 32 Metri apart from a conventional planing 100-footer, which typically needs far more fuel to cover the same distance. Elastic mounts on the drivetrain were part of the brief to keep noise down.

An owner's suite in a glass bow

Stefano Righini placed the owner's suite forward on the main deck and gave it full-height windows that straddle the hull and superstructure, dropping deep toward the waterline. MBY's reviewers singled out the view from the bed, which sits on the centerline between two walls of glass. The vertical bow and sloping foredeck arc over the suite without spoiling the profile and leave room for a lounge and sun pads on top.

Below decks are two VIP doubles and two twins, all en suite, for ten guests in total. The crew get three cabins and three heads, enough for a crew of five. Achille Salvagni's interior trades on contrast: dark polished surfaces against pale woods, butter-colored leather and small pastel accents, with walls that seem to fold in and out of each other. It won Best Interior Design in the 24 to 38 meter class at the 2018 World Yachts Trophies.

A 70 square meter flybridge and two beach clubs

Outside, the numbers are large for the length. The flybridge offers about 70 square meters (roughly 750 square feet) arranged in three zones, with furniture that seems to float off the deck. Forward, the foredeck works as a second beach club with seating and sun pads. Aft, a side-opening garage holds a tender up to about 16 feet 5 inches and a personal watercraft, and with the garage out of the way the transom opens onto a sheltered beach club of nearly 18 square meters at water level.

That side garage is a practical point to check on any boat you consider. It keeps the stern free for the beach club, but launch and recovery depend on the crane and door hydraulics working perfectly, and replacement parts come from Italy.

MTU M86 power and the economics of 12 knots

YachtBuyer lists twin MTU 16V 2000 M86 diesels at 2,186 hp each on shafts, for a top speed of 27 knots and a 21-knot cruise, and MarineMax lists the same 2,200 hp class MTUs. Fuel capacity is 16,000 liters, or about 4,227 gallons, and fresh water about 660 gallons.

Nobody has published an independent fuel curve for the 32 Metri in the US press, so plan on the captain's logs. The practical lesson from the D2P concept is to use the boat in two modes: fast transits in the low 20s when the schedule demands it, and passages at 10 to 12 knots when range and comfort matter. Running costs, including a crew of five, insurance, dockage and yard periods, will typically land between $900,000 and $1.3 million a year before depreciation.

  • LOA 105 feet including pulpit, LWL 93 feet 3 inches, beam 23 feet 11 inches
  • Draft 6 feet 3 inches at full load, displacement about 142 tonnes
  • 2 x MTU 16V 2000 M86, 2,186 hp each, 27 knots top, 21 knots cruise
  • About 1,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, 212 gross tons

Is the Grande 32M still built?

The answer depends on whom you ask. Azimut's own 2026 website lists the Grande range as the 26M, 27M, 30M, 36M, Trideck and 44M, with no 32M. Yet MarineMax still shows a 2026 Grande 32M as an orderable model, Yachting reported a Grande 32M on Azimut's display at the 2026 Palm Beach International Boat Show, and YachtBuyer records a 2025 model-year boat sold in 2026.

Our reading is that the 32M is winding down in favor of the new pod-driven Grande 30M, with late hulls and dealer stock still in the pipeline. If you want a new one, ask a dealer for a written build slot and specification before assuming it can be ordered. If you are buying used, the model's continued presence in dealer catalogs is a mild positive for resale.

Reading Azimut 32 Metri asking prices

YachtBuyer's data shows boats spending an average of about 381 days on the market with a typical reduction of 8.5 percent, which is normal for this size. Listings appear mostly in the Mediterranean, on the US East Coast and in Southeast Asia, with prices in 2026 between about $8.4 million and $11.3 million. Within that, Freedome (2022), which had a $400,000 reduction in 2025, was listed in Miami at $8.49 million and La Mama (2022) in Nassau at $10.9 million.

The spread is mostly about specification and condition. Stabilizers, a recent major service on the MTUs, updated electronics and a clean, non-charter history justify the upper end. Be careful with listing data: one 2023 boat in Miami was listed with Caterpillar engines, which does not match Azimut's specification and should be verified at survey.

How much does a Azimut Grande 32 Metri cost?

New, typical sail-awayNo longer built
Used, typical asking$7.5M to $11.3M
Yearly running costs$900K to $1.3M

YachtBuyer tracked five boats for sale in 2026, built 2022 and 2023, asking $8.4 million to $11.3 million with an average near $9.8 million; a 2019 hull sold after asking $8 million and a 2022 hull after asking $8.2 million. One & Only was cut by $500,000 to $7.75 million in late 2025. Late hulls with stabilizers, low hours and a US-friendly spec sit at the top, while early boats with Mediterranean charter history sit at the bottom.

Our verdict on the Azimut Grande 32 Metri

The Azimut 32 Metri is the Grande that best balances the two things buyers say they want and rarely get: 27 knots when the weather window is short and about 1,000 miles of range when it is not. The D2P hull earned its award, the glass-walled bow suite is a genuine showpiece, and the wide-body deck makes the boat feel much larger than 105 feet. Uncertainty about whether it can still be ordered new is a minor issue for used buyers, and with around 30 built there is choice. Pick the one with the best engine records and the cleanest garage hydraulics.
