Azimut Grande 36 price, generation by generation

The Azimut Grande 36 is really two price stories. The first generation, launched at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2022 with an interior by Achille Salvagni, now trades used at roughly $12.3 million to $17.1 million. The second generation, which YachtBuyer calls the Grande 36M Evo, made its debut at Cannes in 2025 with a new m2atelier interior and lists at roughly $18.4 million to $20 million, including a build slot for a 2028 delivery at 16.5 million euros. Azimut itself does not publish prices.

The gap matters because the hull, deck and engines are essentially the same. What a buyer pays the extra for is the refreshed interior concept, a newer build and a warranty. YachtBuyer's numbers also show the market's verdict: Evo boats sold in about 51 days on average with almost no discount, while first-generation boats sat for around 360 days and closed about 8.6 percent below their first asking price. If you are price sensitive, a well-kept 2023 or 2024 hull is where the value is.

The Infinity Skydeck that won Fort Lauderdale

The idea that defines the 36M sits one level up. Alberto Mancini designed what Azimut calls the Infinity Skydeck, the first semi-walkaround upper deck on a yacht this size, running flush and on one level from the stern almost to the bow. The skylounge in the middle has side windows that retract completely, joining the inside to the aft terrace, and the deck wraps forward to a glass-sided whirlpool tub and sun pads overlooking the bow.

That layout won the overall Best of Show at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, where the 36M made its US debut, chosen from eight finalists by an independent jury. MBY's preview described the upper deck in three zones: a lounge-friendly aft deck with a wet bar, the skylounge (configurable as a media room or indoor dining) and the forward dining and sun area. For a 116-foot yacht with no third deck above, it is an unusually usable amount of outdoor space.

Main deck two ways, and a Gentleman's Club

Because the skylounge can serve as the main indoor dining room, the main deck becomes flexible. Azimut offers either two lounge areas one after another, or a more traditional plan with sofa and dining forward. A third option uses the freed-up forward space for a secluded room Azimut calls the Gentleman's Club. The circular main deck lounge is laid out so crew and guests have separate paths.

Forward on the main deck is the full-beam owner's suite, with a central walkaround bed, a desk, a seating area and his-and-hers bathrooms behind unbroken floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides. Four more guest cabins are below, all en suite, for ten guests. Crew accommodation forward on the lower deck has four cabins, four heads and six berths, with a separate crew mess.

Salvagni or m2atelier, the visible difference

First-generation boats carry Achille Salvagni's interior, the same designer behind the Grande 25 Metri, 26M, 27M and 32 Metri: sculptural joinery, contrasting finishes and rounded forms. Azimut's announcement of the FLIBS award credited Salvagni with the interior of the boat shown in 2023.

The 2025 refresh hands the interior to m2atelier, the Milan studio of Marco Bonelli and Marijana Radovic that Azimut also chose for the new Grande 30M. Their Barefoot Luxury approach is more informal and architectural. The saloon centerpiece is a Gradient Wall of printed fabric hand-finished with pleating, and the owner's suite is built from layered panels with straight lines and curves used only as transitions. If you are shopping used, the interior designer is the fastest way to tell which generation you are looking at.

MTU 2,200 or 2,400 hp on a D2P hull

Power is a pair of MTU 16V 2000 diesels, 2,200 hp each as standard with 2,400 hp as the option, on Azimut's D2P displacement-to-planing hull drawn by P.L. Ausonio with the yard's R&D team. The double-chine form ends in a wave-piercing bow to lengthen the waterline and reduce drag, and carbon fiber concentrated in the upper structure keeps the center of gravity low. Azimut claims the package cuts fuel use and emissions by 20 to 30 percent at both slow and fast cruise compared with a hard-chine yacht of the same weight.

Azimut's sheet gives a top speed of up to 24 knots and a cruise of 18 to 19 knots, with 19,000 liters (about 5,020 gallons) of fuel. No independent fuel curve has been published in the US press, so we have left range blank rather than repeat an unverified figure. Ask for the captain's logs on any used boat.

  • LOA 115 feet 9 inches, beam 24 feet 7 inches, draft about 6 feet 5 inches
  • Full-load displacement about 171 tonnes
  • Fuel 5,020 gallons, water 977 gallons
  • Up to 24 knots, 18 to 19 knots cruise, RINA Class Pleasure

Crew, class and annual costs

With up to six crew, RINA class and a gross tonnage YachtBuyer puts at 275 GT, the 36M is a professionally run superyacht. Expect $1.5 million to $2.2 million a year in operating costs before depreciation, covering crew salaries and benefits, insurance, class surveys, dockage in places like Fort Lauderdale or Antibes, fuel and maintenance. Charter can offset part of that, and the barrier-free upper deck photographs well in charter brochures.

Within the Grande range the 36M sits above the 26M, 27M and 30M and below the Grande Trideck and the 44M flagship. Its 35-meter predecessor, the Grande 35 Metri, had a similar footprint but a Righini profile and a conventional upper deck, and it costs several million dollars less on the used market.

How much does a Azimut Grande 36M cost?

New, typical sail-away$18.4M to $20.5M
Used, typical asking$12.3M to $17.1M
Yearly running costs$1.5M to $2.2M

YachtBuyer's 2026 data splits the market in two. First-generation boats built 2022 to 2025 ask about $12.3 million to $17.1 million, averaging around $15.2 million, while second-generation Evo boats list at $18.4 million to $20 million, including a 2028 build slot at 16.5 million euros. Interior generation, the 2,400 hp engine option, stabilizer spec and whether a boat has worked in charter drive the spread. Evo listings have sold in weeks while first-generation boats average almost a year on the market.

Our verdict on the Azimut Grande 36M

The Azimut Grande 36M earned its Fort Lauderdale Best of Show honestly. The Infinity Skydeck gives a 116-foot yacht the kind of uncluttered, open-sided upper deck usually found on bigger tri-decks, and the main deck owner's suite and flexible lounges make the inside as good as the outside. It is not a fast boat, and buyers should ask hard questions about fuel use because independent data is scarce. The smart money question is generation: an Evo buys the newest interior and a warranty, while a first-generation hull with Salvagni's interior buys nearly the same yacht for several million dollars less.
