The De Antonio D60 is a 60-foot 8-inch outboard coupe launched in 2025, with quad Mercury Verado 400s or V12 600s hidden under the aft deck, two or three cabins, a 3-foot 4-inch draft and a price near $3 million.

Best for
  • Owner-operators stepping up from large center consoles
  • Shallow-water cruising in the Bahamas and Keys
  • Entertaining at anchor with a big group
  • Buyers who want outboard simplicity without the look

The De Antonio D60 takes the hidden outboard idea to 60 feet

The De Antonio D60 is the most ambitious boat yet from a Barcelona yard that built its name on one trick: bury the outboards under a raised sunpad so the stern looks and works like an inboard boat. Marc de Antonio and Stan Chmielewski founded the company in 2012, starting with the D23 Open, and every model since has come out of Marc's own design studio, Ubica-id. Until 2025 the largest application of the concept was the triple-engine D42 day boat. The D60 more than doubles that boat's displacement and puts four engines in the box.

De Antonio unveiled the design in October 2024, launched the first boat the following summer and showed it at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival. Hull number one, christened Matador, went to Formula One driver Carlos Sainz with the V12 option. The second boat was ordered with the foredeck hot tub and was due in the United States in early 2026. In January 2026 the D60 was named European Powerboat of the Year in the up to 24 meter class, which tells you the concept convinced a jury that drives a lot of very good boats.

Design and engineering stay in Barcelona, but production runs in Poland. YachtBuyer describes the D60 as coming out of a Polish OEM network that also builds for established Northern European brands, and Power & Motoryacht calls it Polish-built. For an American buyer that matters mostly for lead times and parts logistics, not quality, since the build is vacuum-infused GRP with carbon reinforcement.

Four Verados under a sunpad, and why that is not a gimmick

Standard power is four Mercury Verado V10 400s, 1,600 hp in all. The option is four 7.6-liter Verado V12 600s for 2,400 hp, which adds nearly 2.5 tonnes of engine on the transom by Motor Boat & Yachting's count. Press a button and the aft sunpad lifts to reveal a tender garage sized for a Williams Minijet 280; lift the garage floor and the four engines sit underneath, open for service. A hydraulic, submersible swim platform swings out and down more than 20 inches below the surface to launch the tender.

De Antonio's argument is practical. Mercury dealers are everywhere this boat is likely to roam, a dented propeller can be changed with the engine tilted while the other three keep running, and the draft with engines raised is about three feet. Power & Motoryacht compared it with an IPS-powered Azimut Seadeck 6 that draws 4 feet 8 inches. The other win is volume: with no engine room, the space under the dining cockpit becomes a stand-up hold for the genset, filters, fuel tanks and a pile of toys. Yachting watched five people stand in it at once.

The trade-off is weight aft. Like the smaller De Antonios, the D60 uses two hull extensions either side of the engine well, almost like a catamaran's sterns, to carry that load. The result is a boat that runs flat and level, which is lovely in most conditions and less lovely in a big following sea, as the tests below show.

What three magazines measured on the D60

Three tests of the V12 boat give a consistent picture. Yachting saw 45 knots off Cannes, with the builder claiming 48, and described the double-stepped hull carving a 30-knot hard-over turn with moderate heel and no speed bleed. Power & Motoryacht, with 15 people and full tanks in sporty Cannes chop, stopped at 36 knots but recorded the most useful fuel data: about 26 gph at 2,400 rpm and 10 knots, enough for nearly 400 nautical miles, and about 95 gph at 29 knots for a little over 300 nautical miles. They also noted the burn stays fairly flat between 22 and 35 knots.

Motor Boat & Yachting found the sweet spot between 30 and 35 knots with the V12s at 5,000 to 5,500 rpm, burning around 12 liters per nautical mile and giving roughly 250 nautical miles of usable range. At 20 to 22 knots the helm read just 67 dB(A). Their caveat is worth repeating: the flat running attitude, vertical topsides and lack of forward flare mean the bow can bury and slow the boat when crossing a lively wake or running in a steep following sea.

  • Top speed: 45 knots measured by Yachting, 46 knots claimed for the V12 package
  • Slow cruise: about 26 gph at 10 knots, nearly 400 nm range (Power & Motoryacht)
  • Fast cruise: about 95 gph at 29 knots, just over 300 nm (Power & Motoryacht)
  • Fuel: 1,004 gallons per the builder; reviewers quote 3,700 liters (977 gallons) across three tanks
  • Draft: 3 feet 4 inches per the builder, about 3 feet with engines raised

A glass pilothouse that opens on four sides

The main deck follows De Antonio's three-zone recipe. Aft, a big sunpad with a chilled center section sits above the engines, ahead of a sheltered dining cockpit that seats eight to ten. Forward of that, sliding doors open into a salon with facing settees, a hi-lo table to port that can drop to form a daybed, and a centerline wet bar with sink, fridges and an aft-facing TV. The side windows drop out of sight, the aft doors slide, both helm doors open and a full-beam sunroof retracts, so the space goes from sealed and air conditioned (about 100,000 BTU, per Power & Motoryacht) to an open Med cockpit in seconds.

The raised centerline helm has three seats behind a single vertical windshield, a joystick, thrusters and Skyhook. Every tester singled out the driving position, and Motor Boat & Yachting titled its review around it. Electronics vary by build: Power & Motoryacht saw Garmin, Yachting saw twin Simrad displays.

Two shelving units beside the TV double as ladders to a rooftop sun terrace, a first for De Antonio. Testers liked the view and disliked the climb: the rungs are vertical, knuckle room is tight and an open sunroof leaves a hole behind you. Owners who do not want the terrace can order a second sunroof instead.

An atrium below the helm and a walk-in wardrobe

Two staircases lead below, one to a port galley and one to a double-height atrium under the helm that pulls daylight from the windshield down into the accommodation. The galley is deliberately simple, with a two-burner cooktop, microwave and storage, because this is not a boat built for cooking passages. The day head to starboard has a separate shower with a seat.

The owner's suite is full beam amidships, using the 17-foot 1-inch beam, with big hull windows, a bed on centerline, a settee and vanity, an en suite head and a walk-in wardrobe as large as the bathroom. Forward, buyers choose between a single broad VIP or two twin cabins that can also be joined as one double, which is the three-cabin layout charter operators will want. A two-berth crew cabin with its own head and air conditioning sits in the forepeak with deck access, though most US owners will treat it as storage.

The foredeck that slides, or holds a hot tub

Walkaround side decks behind tall bulwarks lead to one of the most adaptable foredecks on any 60-footer. On hull one, the forward lounge rides on tracks and slides aft toward the pilothouse to face a U-shaped settee and two fold-out teak tables, giving alfresco dining for six to eight. Its backrest adjusts to make a second sunbed. Hull two replaced it with a hot tub, which is the photo most buyers will remember.

It is a reminder that the D60 is semi-custom. Layout, cabins, foredeck, roof and engines are all owner choices, so two D60s at a boat show can look quite different, and the price spread is wide.

Owning a quad outboard 60-footer in the US

Running costs land somewhere between a large center console and a diesel express. Four Verados mean four sets of annual services, gearcase oil, anodes and eventual repowers, but no shaft seals, no IPS pod service and no diesel engine room. Fuel is gasoline, and at roughly 95 gph at 29 knots a 150-hour season can burn more than 14,000 gallons. Add dockage for a 61-foot slip, insurance on a $3 million hull and generator and air conditioning service, and a realistic budget is $140,000 to $280,000 a year before any captain.

Most owners will run it themselves; Motor Boat & Yachting thought the joystick, thrusters and side doors make it simple enough that the crew cabin becomes storage. Long-term resale is unknown because the model is new, but De Antonio's smaller boats have held demand well and outboard power broadens the buyer pool when it is time to sell.

Figures come from builder documentation and independent tests where available. Displacement is usually quoted light, so a loaded cruising boat will weigh more. Compare these specs with another model.

How much does a De Antonio D60 cost?

New, typical sail-away$2.4M to $3.3M
Used, typical asking$2.1M to $2.9M
Yearly running costs$140K to $280K

Power & Motoryacht put the D60 at around $3 million, and Motor Boat & Yachting's V12-powered test boat was priced at about 1.7 million pounds before VAT. The jump from quad V10 400s to quad V12 600s, the hot tub foredeck, the rooftop sun terrace versus second sunroof and the three-cabin plan are the big swing factors. With only a handful of hulls delivered, any used boat will trade close to new money because it skips the build slot.

Our verdict on the De Antonio D60

The De Antonio D60 is the clearest proof yet that hidden outboards can scale. It gives a 60-foot coupe the stern of an inboard yacht, a stand-up hold where the engine room would be, three-foot draft and 45-knot speed, and it does it for roughly half the cost of a quint-engine super console. The price is a flat bow attitude that wants respect in following seas, a basic galley and gasoline bills that climb quickly above 25 knots. For an owner-operator who cruises shallow, entertains hard and values dealer service over diesel range, it is one of the most interesting boats on the market.
