Aquila 70 price and where the flagship sits
The Aquila 70 is the top of the Aquila range and the boat that moved the brand from production power cats toward a semi-custom yacht. Marketed as the 70 Luxury Power Catamaran, it made its debut at the Palm Beach boat show in 2021 and remains the only model in Aquila's Luxury series. For 2026, MarineMax lists it at 6 million dollars, about three times what it asks for the 50 Yacht or 54 Yacht.
That price buys a 69-foot 10-inch hull with a 26-foot 11-inch beam, a full-beam master stateroom, interiors by the Italian studio Manzoni and Tapinassi with Natuzzi Italia furniture, twin 1,000 hp Volvo Penta D13 diesels on shafts and a range Aquila claims exceeds 3,000 nautical miles at displacement speed. Searches for the Aquila 70 price, Aquila 70 for sale and the Aquila 70 luxury power catamaran price all lead to the same small pool of boats, so it helps to know exactly what each one has.

Designed to run: carbon, CFD and a taller tunnel
Lex Raas, Aquila's president of product development, told Yachting that aesthetics and speed drove the design. Many power cats, he argued, have too much beam for their length and cannot perform. Aquila's response was to save weight with a higher ratio of carbon fiber than in its other boats and to run extensive computational fluid dynamics and tank testing on the hull and running gear, down to the rudder shape.
BoatTEST adds detail: the CFD work focused on the bulbs on the leading edges of the twin hulls, the shaft struts, skegs, propellers and rudders, and the tunnel and deck were raised higher than on previous Aquilas to reduce pounding and pitching. Aquila chose shafts rather than pods partly to keep draft to 4 feet 9 inches.
J&J Design, which draws every Aquila, was asked for a profile that would not look boxy. Tinted glass, curves and a raked superstructure mean the boat, in Yachting's words, could pass as a 70-foot monohull in profile.
Speed and fuel burn on twin 1,000 hp Volvos
Both published tests agree on the headline. Yachting ran the boat into the Gulf of Mexico from Clearwater and recorded 27.3 knots at 2,470 rpm, with a 21.3-knot cruise at 2,000 rpm on 62 gph. BoatTEST, with four people and half tanks in calm water, saw 27.3 knots at 2,460 rpm on 101.5 gph and 21.4 knots at 2,000 rpm on 62 gph. Power and Motoryacht's first look quoted the same 21-knot cruise and 27-knot top end.
BoatTEST noted there is no single best cruise: from 1,500 to 2,200 rpm efficiency hovers around 0.4 miles per gallon, and even flat out it only drops to 0.3. Slow to 8.6 knots and the boat burns 10 gph; at 6 knots, 2.5 gph. On Aquila's published 1,162-gallon capacity and keeping a 10 percent reserve, that works out to roughly 360 nautical miles at a 21-knot cruise and about 900 at 8.6 knots by our calculation. BoatTEST's own range figures are higher because its spec page lists a larger tank.
The ride, Yachting found, is different from a monohull's: no rolling, and a sense of gliding over the water rather than punching through it. BoatTEST described a solid, shippy feel and level turns.
Joysticks everywhere and a Portuguese bridge
The primary helm is on the flybridge with three 22-inch Garmin displays, three Stidd pilot chairs and the Volvo Penta joystick built into the captain's armrest. Aquila offers the Volvo Joystick Inboard system, which ties the shaft drives to electrical steering and variable-speed hydraulic thrusters so the boat can walk sideways and spin. Joystick wing stations sit on each side of the flybridge, and a fourth joystick controls the boat from a lower helm in the salon that has no steering wheel at all.
The flybridge can be ordered open or enclosed and climate controlled. Forward of it, a Portuguese bridge with docking stations on each side leads down centerline steps to a big bow with a sunpad, benches and walk-down lockers in the forward sponsons with more than 6 feet of standing room. A hydraulic windlass, chain counter, a second anchor roller and retractable cleats show the boat is meant to anchor out.
A 300-square-foot salon with galley up or down
The main deck salon and galley share about 300 square feet with 9 feet of headroom, according to Yachting. The standard plan puts the galley up, to starboard, with Gaggenau cooktop, oven, microwave, espresso machine and wine chiller, and a privacy screen that rises from the island. A galley-down version frees the main deck for more entertaining space. Alpi wood lines the walls and ceiling, and Natuzzi Italia supplies the sofas, tables and bar stools.
Aft deck and salon sit on the same level, and the bridgedeck overhead shades a large cockpit table. Electric blinds, Denon HEOS surround sound and inductive phone charging pads round out the fit-out.
Four, five or six cabins and a master as wide as the boat
Aquila offers four-, five- or six-cabin arrangements. Hull number 1, as Yachting toured it, had four staterooms and five heads: a full-beam master, VIP staterooms aft in both hulls and a captain's cabin connected to the engine room. Power and Motoryacht's boat had the master, two VIPs and a crew cabin with a day head, laundry and storage, with access to the starboard engine room.
The master, which Aquila says is 27 feet wide, has a king-size island berth, a lounge and desk with a hidden makeup vanity, an en suite with two sinks and a glass shower, and a walk-in closet large enough for liveaboards. PMY's tester preferred the VIP for its large hull window just above the waterline.
A catamaran tender that rides between the hulls
One of the 70's most distinctive features is its tender solution. Rather than hanging a dinghy off davits, a remote-controlled platform between the hulls angles down to the waterline to pull the tender in and flattens out to become deck space when it is aboard. Aquila offers its own catamaran tender designed by Morrelli and Melvin, described by Yachting as a 13-footer and by PMY as a 14-foot catamaran RIB, which is more stable and carries more than a monohull tender of the same length.
With the tender launched, the platform becomes a beach club, and recessed ladders on both hulls give easy access to the water.
Owning a 27-foot beam: slips, crew and running costs
The catch with any big power cat is the beam. At just under 27 feet, the Aquila 70 needs an end tie or a wide slip, and those cost more and are harder to find in Florida and the Northeast. PMY's tester admitted squeezing it into a crowded marina could be hair-raising, though the joystick system and wing stations help.
Systems are substantial: two 21 kW generators that monitor each other and share the load, a centerline main fuel tank with day tanks visible in the engine rooms, and well-labeled wiring and filters. Expect annual costs of roughly 280,000 to 480,000 dollars with a captain, insurance, dockage, generator and engine service, and fuel. Aquila buys about 65 percent of its components from US brands, which it says simplifies warranty and service, and MarineMax provides the US service network.

How much does a Aquila 70 Luxury cost?
MarineMax lists a 2026 Aquila 70 Luxury at 6 million dollars. Layout (four, five or six cabins), an enclosed versus open flybridge, the galley position, the Aquila catamaran tender and electronics drive the final figure. With few boats delivered, used pricing is thin and our bands are estimates; early hulls from 2021 and 2022 should sit well below a new boat.

Compare side by sideOur verdict on the Aquila 70 Luxury
The Aquila 70 Luxury succeeds at its brief: it looks like a monohull, moves at 27 knots, and still gives owners the stability, deck space and full-beam master that make catamarans so appealing. The joystick control, Portuguese bridge and between-the-hulls tender are thoughtful touches that make it manageable for a small crew. The beam, the price and an unproven resale market are the trade-offs. For a family that anchors out more than it docks, it is one of the most complete power cats near 70 feet.
