Who builds Statement boats

Statement boats come from Statement Marine, a small, family-owned builder on Florida's Gulf Coast whose current address is in Largo, near Clearwater. Nick Buis and former partner Todd Werner introduced the brand in 2009 with the 42 Ultimate V-bottom, a sportboat with an air-suspension cockpit that got plenty of attention at the Miami show. Industry veteran Craig Barrie joined in 2013, left, and rejoined in 2024.

The center consoles came quickly. In October 2013 Statement prepared an electric-blue 350 SUV on twin 350-hp Yamaha outboards for the Fort Lauderdale show alongside a 38-foot 380 SUV, and by 2015 Barrie said the company would build about 20 to 24 center consoles that year, running at capacity. The 35-footer's name later changed from SUV to Open, and the 350 Open remains the smallest model in a lineup that now runs up to the 430 Tigress catamaran console and the 47 GTrs.

Statement pitches itself as the low-production alternative: buyers work directly with the shop, the owners are on the floor daily, and the company says its lamination and rigging crews average about 10 years with the brand.

A 24-degree vee on a full 10-foot beam

On paper the 350 Open is a classic offshore performance console: 34 feet 5 inches long, a full 10-foot beam, 24 degrees of deadrise, a 24-inch draft and a dry hull weight of 9,216 pounds. Fuel capacity is 257 gallons and fresh water 40 gallons, with 9 feet of bridge clearance.

The 24-degree bottom is steeper than many performance consoles in this size range, which favors a soft ride in a chop over outright top speed. Statement pairs it with Mercury Racing K-Plane trim tabs as standard, a sensible choice on a deep vee that will want help leveling at displacement and transition speeds.

The transom is the clever part. Statement's walking transom gives a wide, flat, unobstructed path across the stern between cockpit and engines, which makes boarding from the stern, landing a fish or tying up much easier than climbing around a deep splashwell. Optional port and starboard swim platforms with stowaway three-step ladders extend it further.

The head compartment that sets it apart

Statement makes a point of comparing its console head with the portable toilet in an unfinished box found on many center consoles, and it has a case. A large door on the front of the console opens to a fully finished fiberglass compartment with a marine head, a freshwater sink that doubles as a shower, LED lighting, storage, a holding tank with pumpout and 6 feet 5 inches of headroom. A removable panel exposes the back of the dash for electronics work.

There is no berth, so this is a day boat. But for families and couples who run to a sandbar or across to the Bahamas, a proper head is the feature that decides whether the rest of the crew wants to come along.

Seating and helm choices most owners make

The standard boat comes with a fiberglass helm module with cooler storage beneath an aft-facing seat, a sport bench aft, forward console seating and wraparound bow seating with storage. Statement says most 350 owners replace the cooler seat with a deluxe module of two forward-facing bolsters and an aft-facing, two-position lounge, and a livewell or wet bar can be built into it.

Up front, an optional convertible bow lounger turns the forward cockpit into a padded playpen with sculpted headrests and two independently adjustable backrests. The Command Center dash can be set up with port or center steering and takes up to twin 24-inch multifunction displays, with controls for joystick steering and autopilot placed to suit the owner.

Fishing is well covered for a performance boat: twin insulated 202-quart fish boxes aft with macerators, a 642-quart forward fish box, and options for outriggers and livewells.

Power choices and what to expect underway

Statement offers several twin and triple Mercury packages, up to triple 500s. Early boats ran twin Yamaha 350s or twin Mercury Verado 350s and 400Rs, and in late 2018 FB Marine Group rigged the first Statement with Mercury's then-new Verado 300 V8s, three of them, for a London-based owner. The dealer expected that boat to run in the 75 mph range once dialed in and praised the low-end torque of the V8s.

That expectation is the only speed figure we could find, and it was a dealer estimate rather than a measured test, so we have not published a top speed in the specs. No magazine has released a fuel curve for the 350 Open. Statement itself promises thrilling top end and an efficient, comfortable cruise, and the 257-gallon tank gives a large reserve for a 34-footer.

Paint, upholstery and the custom culture

Statement's sales pitch is personalization. Paint is done in an in-house booth, from mild to wild, including House of Kolor colors and color-matched outboards, and the upholstery, EVA flooring and powder-coated pipework are all chosen by the owner. One 2023 350 built for a retired New York City police officer carried a skyline and World Trade Center graphic designed as a surprise tribute, and it shows how far the shop will go.

That custom approach has a resale side. Bold graphics delight the first owner but can narrow the pool of second buyers, so neutral boats with high-end systems usually sell faster.

Statement 350 prices new and used

Statement does not list prices online. The best anchor we found is a 2026 model-year 350 Open with triple 400-hp Mercury outboards, 48 hours, a bow thruster, underwater lighting and a 2025 aluminum trailer, offered at $475,000 in late 2025. Earlier twin-engine boats sell far lower: a 2018 on twin Verado 350s with 140 hours was listed at $259,000 that year, and a 2017 on twin 350s at $314,875 in 2021.

Our estimate for a new, well-optioned triple-engine 350 Open in 2026 is $450,000 to $650,000. Running costs are moderate for the class at roughly $20,000 to $45,000 a year for fuel, outboard service, insurance and storage.

Statement does not publish prices, so our new range is an estimate anchored to a lightly used 2026 boat with triple 400-hp Mercurys and 48 hours listed at $475,000 with a trailer. Older used asks we saw include $259,000 for a 2018 on twin Verado 350s and $314,875 for a 2017 on twin 350s in 2021. Triple versus twin power, paint and the helm seating module drive value.

Our verdict on the Statement 350 Open

The Statement 350 Open is a custom performance console for people who care as much about the head compartment and the transom as the top speed. Its 24-degree deep-V, finished console head, walking transom and endless personalization make it a very livable fast day boat. The lack of published test numbers and prices means you must do more homework than with a volume brand, but a well-optioned triple-engine 350 delivers a lot of boat for the money in this niche.
