Saxdor Yachts models

Saxdor Yachts was founded in Helsinki in 2019 by Sakari Mattila and grew to about 700 boats a year. Malibu Boats bought it in March 2026. Its 320 GTO, 340 GTWA and 460 GTC define its fold-down terrace style.

Known for
  • Fold-down side terraces
  • Twin-step hulls on Mercury outboards
  • Rapid growth to about 700 boats a year
  • Acquisition by Malibu Boats in 2026

Sakari Mattila's fourth boat brand

Saxdor was not Sakari Mattila's first boat company. He had already founded or co-founded Aquador, Paragon, XO and Axopar when he set up Saxdor in 2019. Its debut boat, the compact Saxdor 200 Sport, earned a Highly Commended nod from the Motor Boat Awards, and the 320 GTO arrived in February 2021. The growth curve was steep even for Finland: the company reports more than 2,000 boats built since 2019, a workforce of nearly 1,000 and over 180 dealer locations across more than 70 countries. CEO Erna Rusi told BoatTEST that revenue climbed from 109 to 180 million euros as 2025 output reached roughly 700 boats.

Malibu Boats, the group behind Cobalt and Pursuit, bought Saxdor in March 2026, a transaction Motor Boat & Yachting valued at about 150 million euros. Mattila remains for a three-year term overseeing strategy and design, and Malibu has signaled that some building could shift to America, freeing Polish floor space for the larger boats.

Terraces, steps and the three Saxdors we cover

Saxdor's signature is a boat that changes shape at anchor. Fold-down side terraces widen the cockpit, seating flips between forward and facing positions, and every boat runs Mercury outboards on a stepped, vacuum-infused hull. Smaller models are built in Elk, Poland; the largest come from Saxdor's Finnish plant. The range now spans the 200 and 205, 270 GTO, 320 GTO and GTC, 340 GTWA, the 400 series and the 460 GTC and GTS.

Three Saxdors get their own pages here. The 320 GTO of 2021 is the open, twin-outboard boat with a small weekend cabin that turned a start-up into a volume builder. The 340 GTWA arrived in 2024, wrapping walkaround side decks around a pilothouse, and took a European Powerboat of the Year title for 2025 in its category. The 460 GTC, a wheelhouse yacht a little over 47 feet long, made its debut at boot Dusseldorf in January 2026 and sold its whole first production year. Speeds, engine packages and prices are on each model page.

Owning a Saxdor in the United States

Saxdor partnered with MarineMax in 2022, and Malibu ownership should strengthen parts, warranty and dealer support further. Resale has been firm because demand outran production, though plenty of 2021 to 2025 320 GTOs now appear on the brokerage market. Expect about $110,000 to $220,000 for a used 320 GTO and $160,000 to $250,000 for a 340 GTWA.

Saxdor scaled up fast, and the earliest hulls came off a line that was still learning, so give the moving parts extra attention.

  • Hinges, gas struts and seals on the fold-down terraces
  • Outboard hours and service on every engine
  • Impact damage on the hull steps and chines
  • Sliding doors, sunroofs and window seals for leaks
  • Joystick, trim tabs and electronics function
  • Engine package, since horsepower changes value
