Navan is the adventure boat label Brunswick Corporation introduced at Cannes in 2023. Designed at a Brunswick center in Florida and built in Poland and Florida, its range is a family of 30-footers on one stepped hull.
Known for- Nordic-style adventure boats from an American conglomerate
- A patented vented twin-step hull called T-Step
- Mercury outboards and joystick packages
- Building in Poland for Europe and in Florida for North America
A corporate response to a Nordic trend
Navan exists because of a market Brunswick did not invent. In recent years Finnish and Scandinavian builders such as Axopar and Saxdor turned slim, vertical-bow, outboard-powered day cruisers into a booming segment of the boat business. Brunswick, headquartered in Mettawa, Illinois, and owner of Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Bayliner and Mercury Marine, chose to answer with a new badge rather than restyle an existing one. Navan was introduced at the Cannes Yachting Festival in the autumn of 2023, with a cabin model and an open model sharing one 30-foot platform. Boating reports that the name is said to rhyme with baton.
Motor Boat and Yachting has noted that the brand grew out of Brunswick's value-oriented Quicksilver business in Europe, and admitted it expected cheap copies. Its reviewers instead found the boats felt premium and carried fresh ideas, and in 2025 it named the open S30 its best sportsboat of the year.
Designed in Florida, built on two continents
Despite the Nordic look, the drawings came from Brunswick's Boat Group Technology Center in Edgewater, Florida, which shares a campus with Boston Whaler. Production is split by market. Boats for Europe come from a plant in Poland, while boats for the US and Canada are built at Merritt Island, Florida, the same site that produces Sea Ray's biggest yachts. The common thread is the T-Step running surface, a twin-step deep-V that Brunswick has patented and the first of its hulls to pull air under the bottom through vents.
The range is still compact. The cabin C30 and open S30 came first, and a third version, the T30, joined in 2026.
Where the C30 sits in the Navan story
Our Navan C30 review covers the pilothouse version, the boat that most clearly shows what Brunswick was aiming for: a heated, enclosable wheelhouse that opens up in summer, on a fast stepped hull, at a size one couple can handle. The Florida-built C30 had its American launch at the Fort Lauderdale show in 2024. Engine packages, speed and range figures, cabin details and pricing are on the model page.
Dealer support and the resale unknown
Navan is sold through dealers, and its biggest practical advantage is the Brunswick and Mercury service network, which makes parts, warranty work and outboard repairs easy to arrange across most of the US. The big unknown is resale. With the first boats only a few years old, there is little brokerage history, and the segment is crowded with established Finnish and French rivals. Early buyers are betting on Brunswick's staying power.
When looking at an early used Navan:
- Find out whether it was built in Poland or Florida and how it is wired
- Confirm outboard hours and what Mercury warranty remains
- Test the joystick, trim control and electronics
- Check seals on sliding doors, sunroof and windows
- Inspect any lithium house bank and 12-volt air conditioning
- Look at the steps and bottom for impact damage
