Above Ferretti Yachts and Pershing, below CRN

Brothers Alessandro and Norberto Ferretti started the Ferretti business in 1968, and in 1996 the group launched Custom Line to build fiberglass flybridge yachts from about 28 to 40 meters. On the group's ladder of brands, Custom Line occupies the rung between Ferretti Yachts and Pershing underneath and the fully bespoke CRN yard on top, and its hulls come out of the Ancona superyacht facility. Weichai Group gained control of Ferretti in 2012, and the shares have traded in Hong Kong since 2022 and in Milan since 2023.

Custom Line's appeal is a semi-custom model: a proven hull and general arrangement, with the owner choosing layouts, finishes and loose furniture. Today the brand describes three families. The Navetta line (Navetta 30, 35, 38 and 42) is built for long-range comfort; the Saetta line, formerly the planing line, covers the 106, 128 and 140-foot models; and the Custom Line 50 is a 50-meter aluminum superyacht under 500 GT.

The Navetta 33 and why so many came to Florida

Of everything Custom Line has built, the Navetta 33 we cover did the most to define the brand. The name spanned three generations, from a first run of eight, through roughly twelve Navetta 33 Crescendo boats (one, in 2014, went to Ferretti CEO Alberto Galassi), to the 2017 redesign on a semi-displacement hull with a bulbous bow. That third-generation 108-foot trideck pairs big MAN diesels with genuine long-range legs and an opening transom beach club, and the yard reached hull No. 30 late in 2023. Layouts, engine figures and range numbers are on our Navetta 33 page.

Its fit with American owners was practical. A draft of about 7 feet keeps the Keys and the Bahamas within reach, buyers could order the MAN engines certified to EPA Tier 3, and hulls No. 3 and No. 26 both found US owners. In 2026 the brand followed it up with a larger 113-foot successor, the Navetta 35.

Resale, support and the superyacht survey

Custom Line yachts are sold and supported in the US through Ferretti Group's North American operation and its aftersales service, and used boats appear with large Florida brokerages such as Allied Marine and Denison. A late Navetta 33 typically asks $9 million to $15 million. Resale is helped by the series production, which makes comparables easier to find than for one-off builds, and by charter appeal.

Survey work is a team effort with a classification-savvy surveyor and engine specialists.

  • Hours on the MAN V12s, oil sampling results and whether the warranty transfers
  • Stabilizer fins, gyros and their service logs
  • Hydraulics for the opening transom, tender garage and swim platform
  • Crazing or past repairs in the fiberglass superstructure gelcoat
  • Generators, air conditioning and watermakers under load
  • Flag, class and charter compliance paperwork
