Omikron OT-60
Trawlers & Explorer Yachts, 60 ft
Used $1.4M to $2.3M
A young Greek brand from an established refit yard near Athens, building light, quiet, efficient motor yachts with sailing-world designers.
Omikron Yachts is the motor yacht label a Greek yard, previously called Olympic Marine, launched in 2023 after decades of refit work dating to 1969. Its debut model is the OT-60, a slow-cruising long-range yacht.
Omikron is new only in name. The company behind it traded for decades as Olympic Marine, a yard near Athens that has been repairing and rebuilding big ships since 1969. Motor Boat and Yachting points out that the same group was also behind sailboat building under the Olympic name. Its most famous job was the conversion of a 357-foot cruise ship into the megayacht Dream, an award winner. In 2023 the owners decided to build yachts of their own design, created the Omikron Yachts brand and completed their first hull that same year, setting up a dedicated production line and keeping joinery and assembly in house.
Omikron's founding idea is that many owners would trade raw speed for silence and range. The company describes its goal as giving a motor yacht the relaxed, quiet passage-making feel sailors enjoy. That leads to a recognizable recipe: slender hulls with a sharp bow, light vacuum-infused construction, carbon fiber above the deck to keep weight low, and pairs of small Yanmar diesels. The boats are meant to spend their lives somewhere around 7 to 9 knots, where fuel burn is tiny and conversation in the salon needs no raised voices.
To deliver it, Omikron hired from the racing and design world. Hull lines come from Juan Kouyoumdjian, whose resume includes America's Cup and Volvo Ocean Race boats. Lorenzo Argento, who has worked with Beneteau and Candela, handles exterior and interior architecture, with finishes by Ciarmoli Queda Studio.
Our Omikron OT-60 review covers the debut model in depth, including its deck plan, cabin layouts, engine choices, test numbers and pricing. In brand terms it put Omikron on the map quickly. Unveiled at boot Dusseldorf early in 2024, it took the long-range prize at the European Powerboat of the Year awards, was tested by Power and Motoryacht in Greek waters in 2025, and returned to Cannes in 2026 with a more powerful engine option. The company has also shown it at Fort Lauderdale and says an OT-80 and the Argo 54 project are in development.
Omikron has delivered only a handful of yachts, so there is no meaningful resale record, and its US dealer and service presence is still being built. A buyer in America will most likely commission in Greece and then ship the boat or enjoy a season in the Mediterranean before bringing it over. The attraction is a mix of efficiency, deck space and quiet that could tempt Fleming, Nordhavn or Grand Banks owners; the risk is backing a young brand.
Points to pin down in the contract:
At the company's yard near Athens, Greece, which operated as Olympic Marine before the Omikron brand was created.
Juan Kouyoumdjian draws the hulls, Lorenzo Argento designs the exterior and interior, and Ciarmoli Queda Studio styles the finishes.
Light, fuel-efficient long-range motor yachts meant to cruise quietly at trawler-like speeds, with the ability to go faster when needed.
The company says a larger OT-80 and the Argo 54 project are in development.
